NSW 2007 Rally Calendar
The 2007 NSW Rally Calendar has been released and is available here on www.nswrally.com.
There have been a number of changes to event dates and which events form which series since the draft was published ... so you need to check those you are interested in carefully.
The panel is revising the way people register for the various Championships & Series - the new scheme will be released once it is approved by the NSW State Executive ... in the meantime a form will be available in a day or two so you can add your name to the 'Supp regs' mailing list ....
As you might guess there have been a number of issues in getting the calendar prepared and some events which you expected to see have disappeared, at least for this year.
The Pacific Rally Club PCYC / Wauchope Clubman Rally and the Port Panthers State Round have faced a number of issues which have led to them not being on the 2007 calendar - and as a result Coffs Harbour has been changed from a Clubman to a State round.
There are 6 scheduled State rounds, two with pacenotes, and 6 scheduled Clubman rounds ... the first of which is the returning Narooma on 24th Feb.

I'm free to be corrected by someone who's been to a more recent panel meeting, but I believe the Novice series has been incorporated into the Clubman series - IE The Novice award goes to the highest eligible pointscorer over the Clubman rounds.

The NSW Novice Series as it's own entity is no longer, and there will now be a "Rookie" award for a suitably defined competitor at/in NSW Clubman.

question from sunny qld to somebody involved in the coffs rally. A proposal had been put foward from the coffs rally to the qld rally rally panel for this rally to be a round of the QRC for 2007, with this now being a round of the NSWRC , is the proposed QRC round still on the table ?.
I think our rally panel were to vote on it soon, just putting together our 07 rally info.

That's up to the host club and the Qld panel, not the NSW panel (or anyone else, really).
One of the good things about Bega (NSW, ACT and Vic round) is that it's not just the normal pool of competitors - so you really get an idea of how you go in the bigger picture.
I'm unlikely to go to Coffs, but I like the idea of the same deal with the Queenslanders.

I understand the CoC of the Coffs Coast Rally has agreed to the event being host to NSW & Qld RC just like Bega with the Vic's. Certainly a well run event on some great roads and worthy of it's inclusion.

sounds like it would be good from a few reports.
I presume it is normally a saturday only event ?.
I never new the bega event was ACT as well, how many enterants all up ?
How does bega handle the running order/seeding situation between states ?
Must make for a wild night at the bar when all is finished ??.
Dad has always spoken of bega being one of the best, it was ARC and state back in the 70-80s i gather ?.

Bega has usually about 100 entries, if not a little more, seeding isn't that tough I don't think, we often compete against people from the different states, especially NSW, so everyone seems to slot in alright.

In the last few years, it's been just over 100, but I think there were ~120 including the Classics last year.

Each state's seeding list, and a finger in the wind, I think... The seeded list of entries is always a pretty whacky looking thing, but Graham is usually responsive to any major mis-seedings.

No... Most of the Victorians just sit quietly sipping on their shandys while muttering about what went wrong...
The combined ACT and NSW crowd get drunk and loud and enjoy ourselves though.
Edit: Last answer was intended as a dig, but now that I think about it, there seems to be a trend for the Victorians who are on these forums to be more sociable than the rest of 'em.

Reg,
Spac is referring to the Bega event when he answered Sunday of the June long weekend.
I think your original question was regarding the Coffs event: from the NSW Rally Calendar it appears to be a Saturday only event - I'd expect a day/night format.
You should talk Steve into running the NSWRC this year, rather than the QRC. Bit of variety would do the boy good, and a chance for your Dad to do some more reminiscing about all the NSW and ACT events he used to do in the good ol' days. George has a memory like an elephant for rally roads and stage names!

We have talked about in basic terms, but once i did some figures on time away from work, its very hard on the business. most of our team are from the business, and a NSWRC year would add up to aprox 12-13 days away from work x 3-4 people, plus aprox 13'000km more truck fuel than now, then accom & food for aprox 8 more nights x 4 people.
The age old problem of time & money, and this is to change state champs, let alone back up to the ARC.
We went over to rally NZ with barry fergerson and son stu, and barry & george sat talking for hours on end about corners, bridges, crashs, other drivers, cars, stages and roads they had not done in 30 years like it was yesterday, trully amazing. that made the trip worthwhile alone, the rest just made it awsome.

Hi Reg and all,
Coffs has been confirmed as a round of the QRC by QLD Rally Panel and QLD State Council - all systems go.
Fantastic that it's also now a round of the NSWRC, should be awesome to have QRC and NSW state fields together there - and the roads are tops!
Double or nothing at the bar afterwards - bring your drinking shoes!
