Car Auctions Sydney Rally Of Lithgow 12/5/07
Just thought some of you would like to know about Rnd1 of the NSW State Championship for 2007, Plans are well and truly in place for what should be a great event. as you can see Car Auctions Sydney www.carauctionssydney.com.au have stepped up as our naming rights sponsor and along with Lithgow Workers Club and Lithgow City Council we have secured strong backing and support from the local area.
the event will start and finish this year in Lithgow and utilise all the great roads in the Hampton area that many of you will have competed on In the " Shakedown" rally over previous years, along with several that were not previously available to us due to Forestry operations and they are "superhighway status" The event will have approx 150ks competitive and discounting the transport in and out of Lithgow about 65ks transport, centralised service, easy spectating, and some other features that we believe are a little innovative but more on that closer to the event. we have negotiated discount accomodation deals in Lithgow on your behalf and these bookings will be handled centrally by the Lithgow Tourist Information centre ranging from budget to 5 star priceing ( yes I was shocked at 5 star also). we will let you know when bookings will open.
Entry fees will include a meal voucher for Friday night for both crew members redeemable at Lithgow Workers Club ( Kitchen closes at 9.30pm) documerntation is also at this venue and will finish at 10pm.We strongly encourage regional scrutineering and will give more details on that later ( remember any S3 qualified person can check your car)
The format will be the same as in previous years with pacenoting on Saturday morning ( a set of prepared "Safety Notes" will be supplied as a base for those of you not 100% comfortable with writing from scratch as well as a comprehensive road book should you not wish to run on notes) withCar 1 in the main field starting at 2pm and finishing around 8.30 pm with 2x 20 & 1x40 min services.the service park will have catering by the Lithgow Lions Club and we would encourage you to support them, as we will as an event with a donation and a raffle that they will conduct with Rally Car Rides as the Prize.
We will require qualified and unqualified officials for the running of this event and as Stated in an earlier thread on this Forum we are prepared to make a donation to any clubs that supply Officials for each complete stage ( please contact me by email or PM for numbers and times) along with our legendary "thank you" packs.( remember also that for 2007 officiating brings with it full outrightand class points at 1 round).
Thats just a little of what we have in store so stop reading this and get out in the shed, you have work to do!!

It sure sounds like a skit from This Sporting Life. Just get the Lithgow Shamrocks out doing a few controls and you've got the full experience.
Seriously, its tops to see the locals really hooked in to supporting this event, and that this event is tied to the community. Good one.

That could be a theme for the "Mullets" or any other group who felt like bringing a bit of a laugh to the controls

I am fairly reliably informed that this event will also be Rnd 1 of the V8 Challenge a concept propagated by Messrs Inall and Gavin over several to many red wines, the 8's will run as pack somewhere within the field

This V8 challenge was dreamed up by Ari Inall and Kev when we were in New Zealand late last year after way too many drinks.
They were trying to decide which events they were going to do this year and hatched a plan to compete in the same events.
It is a very very informal thing that involved 3 or 4 rallies, starting at Narooma I think.
The whole idea is to get together and see who can make the most noise and destroy the most tyres. I am sure you would be welcomed along the more the merrier.
It's a pity that I will be involved in organising this event as I think I may have found myself a car.

hey brett.
i was privy to some of theese plans (CYOTE BAR), and i can confirm there were WAY too many drinks, but i am sure the results will be fantastic from a specy's point of view.
the v8 challenge moto should be. " V8 RALLY CHALLENGE 2007, WE NEED MORE FUEL, MORE TYRES & MORE REV'S, BUT WE CHUCK ROCKS MUCH, MUCH FURTHER !!".
