Risk management basics

I know some you like me are bemused by the CAMS approach to risk management.

I must wear a driving suit - Hans is on the way in, but drive a race car at 270 kn/h whilst dehydrated and in need of a drip - no problemo. All credit to Todd Kelly - but he shouldnt have been in the car.

What about Mark Skaife? Did he end up driving in the event after his operation earlier in the week?

Nope. Seton/Longhurst.

Skaiffe would have been a fool to even try.

MichaelF is yet to show credentials
In their latest e-mag CAMS said they are moving away from a one size fits all risk management policy. The problem is that for me they have just lost all credibility in the area.

And did not the AFL or NRL get royaly reemed for allowing players to drip re-hydrate during the breaks so they could still play at their peak. When you looked at Mr Kelly, his eyes were sunk so deep into his head, you almost needed a torch to see where they were.

I also noted, that they had a close up face shot of a driver whom had modified his balaclava. The eye holes were ripped, so the were, I suppose bigger. A number of loose threads were evident. I thought the regs stated something about not modifying items.

No no no Factor you've got it arts about. That's safety you're talking about... not risk managment.

RM balances safety off against making a buck and keeping the public happy.

Big tick for CAMS risk management on this one - public is happy, quite a few made a quid... bugger the safety risk

And it was accepted in that way

It will take more than a tire iron to beat me down, it will take an open transperant and representative democratically based process to make me go away.

So if I start a new thread with a Poll, and we overwhelmingly, openly, and democratically vote you off the Forum, will you go?

Just kidding big fella - you opened yourself up for that one!
