When having a joke with the 6 year old that she can co-drive in a couple of weeks and she becomes so distraught when told it was a joke that you tell her she's 7 soon so you will buy her a go-kart and she can drive that until she's old enough to co-drive....and she is happy again....

... when you get thrills out of going down even a slight incline and gathering speed on a pushbike because the rally car is covered with crap in the garage and doesn't even look like making it out soon.

When you spend $50 buying a awesome Scale Electric Slot car then sand it and paint it the same as your rally car, and no matter how bodge it looks its still cool, coz it looks like your car.

When you think nothing of working a super-duper early morning shift on a Friday and then head down the coast to a rally for Saturday and then head back start work just before lunch on Sunday.

When pretty much everything you earn and your time goes into your motorsport committments (other than the rally car waiting to be rebuilt  ) - car displays, series coordination, event running etc etc.

When at my desk at work all I have is a photo of my car in RallySport news on the wall, and not a photo of my very supportive loving family   .
You know your son is addicted to motorsport when all he wants to do is watch the movie cars, and has done every day for the last month
