Recently two well known WA rally competitors (and good friends of mine) tied the knot. Kevin Sleep and Alex Kirkhouse became Mr & Mrs Sleep on the 15th of December.
Using familiar rally cars and a Lancia Delta HF Integral for wedding cars, the happy couple had their ceremony in the only logical place for a rally couple, the Rally Australia Atkins Special Stage in Mundaring! Surrounded by family and friends the bridal party, bride and groom looked stunning although somewhat different from the normal race suits and overalls we're so used to seeing them wear.
The newly weds are now on their well deserved honeymoon relaxing and recharging for the 2008 season. Congratulations to the Kev and Alex, we wish you all the best. Now all we need to do is organise the sign writer to come and change the names on the car.....

1.When you can't afford to go rallying or buy road tyres anymore so you run old rally tyres on your road car driving to work and imagine that the familiar humming of rubber on road you can hear is actually the sound of transporting to SS1 of a real event.
2.When you concentrate your efforts into upgrading in as many officials licence categories as possible and help people with their events just to get that smell of pine needles and dust that you miss so badly from not competing.........
How depressing, I think it's time G.O.B's nurse fetched me another Wild Turkey.......evening all [hic]

tomorrow we are having my sons 7th birthday party at our place ....kicks off about 10.30..... cake ... games.... i cook the BBQ about 11.30.... everybody sits down to lunch at 12.00 precisely..... OH MY GOD..... the ARC telecast of canberra is on chanell 10 at 12.00....you cant beat lucky timming.... who would have ever thought.
