A little story along these lines...
Hmmmm this wasn't funny at the time...But in hindsight...
My girlfriend was experiencing sharp and strong stomach cramps as a result of some food poisoning... Despite the brave face I could see she was really struggling, no longer being able to even speak...
Concerned it was an appendix issue I suggested we head off to the hospital, to which I got a wave down, "I'll be right, it will pass". After a while this was clearly not happening...
Unable to speak and doubled over, luckily there was an old road book sitting next to the couch which she grabbed and flicked to the "SOS-Assistance Required" back cover to show me...To which she was bailed into the car and off we went...
Like I said, it wasn't funny at the time, but in hindsight quite amusing... By the way she's all good, it was acute food poisoning.
Cheers,
Daz

Your daughter spots navy blue and orange dunlop volleys in Target and yells out "Nada.. Nada shoes... like my rallycar" and cried until I bought them...

probably been posted multiple times, but...
when every car for sale under $1,000 and with a 5 speed has rally car potential. "hmmm, chuck in a cage, seats, belts, and a terratrip"

When you need to ring somebody but can't find their number, so you go through your rally photos to get the number off the ad on the side of their rally car...

When you see an asphalt carpark and compare it to Park Beach Plaza, then dream of seeing Poss in the liberty going flat out over the speed humps!
Oh and who can forget the GTHO going around PBP!
Heaven!

When you strip every last thing out of your current daily driver, take your newly acquired race seat, slap it inside the now empty interior, sit in it and giggle for 20 minutes about the fact that that recurring dream you've been having for 3 years is starting to happen.
Then panic as your daily driver is not so much of a daily driver, rather a noisy, uncomfortable car with no seats, belts, let alone carpet or spare tire.
You then borrow mums car for a day, franticly shop around for a daily driver under the $1000 that you have in the bank, and spend it all on a pulsar. Not on merit of economy, cost of running, cost of insurance or condition of the car, but on the fact that the gear knob, muffler tip, steering wheel and wheels would go great on your new rally project.
True story, that is why there are 4 cars in our driveway now

When you're so busy competing, officiating, running a car club or working on your own or friends' cars that your house gets neglected. So badly neglected that your yard needs machete work and you don't need a vacuum cleaner - you can clean the carpet with a dustpan and broom.

I know that feeling.
Also, it's when you need a cheap runaround for work, so instead of driving your parent's Yaris you go and buy another Datsun, intending to keep it stock and cheap. After a week of driving you've already lined up a full set of King Springs, swaybars and a full manual conversion...
I received my rear springs and swaybar yesterday.
