Roof Vents Evo 8.5/9?

So, I've found a few different knock off Evo 8/9 roof vents:

http://www.motordrive.com/acatalog/c..._Exterior.html
http://www.stationgaragearnside.co.u...php?p=11&pno=0

I really like the look of these roof vents, but can't find them at anything approaching reasonable prices. Anyone know a different source, or someone who's made a mould of one to make a few copies?

This TRS product is available from Autosport in SA for $699

It may be available elsewhere, but saw it advertised over the weekend in the speccie guide for Tarrawatta.

Wow, they are expensive vents!

Why on earth would anyone spend 1000 pounds on a roof vent??

If drivers have a 1000 pound roof vent they less likely to roll and crush their precious. Thats exaclt why the RX doesn't have one.

Fro,

Me and a guy at work (JP) have been looking at cheap knock off roof vents. The UK E-bay is definately the place to look. This is a cheaper (relatively) one from the links you listed at about 299 pound:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MITSUBISHI-RAL...2em118Q2el1247

We're going to go the 26 pound option plus 20 pound freight divided between the two of us for this jobbie - a la Subaru:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA...QQcmdZViewItem
Apparently it measures 17" x 15" x 2.5".

Finding a rip-off of the Citroen C4 one might be worth chasing down: small frontal area, obviously works, relatively aerodynamic.

Mark

The genuine Ralliart version of that roof vent is worth over $3000 AUD. It is quite intricate inside with the venturis and stuff, but still madness in the pricing.

The Ralliart vertical hydraulic handbrake that was homologated for the Evo 9 last year costs $4500 AUD!!

This really just proves that S2000 is at least heading in the right direction with some of the freedoms they allow for you to bulid your own stuff for all these little Guzzi extras that add so much cost to a Gp-N car. Mitsu especially but Subaru as well are really just pricing themselves out of the rally market, Gp-N surelly must be heading down the tube over the next couple of years!

The same mob sell one for 60 GBP which has an inner half too.

Not quite as attractive from the outside though..

Anyone that had some experience with fibreglass and body filler could custom make one easily. Given some investment of time of course.

Alex.

Richard has one of them on his EVO, it really need some sort of extension on the top edge to work well.
