May I ask who do the Exec think is going to do the little things like set a calendar, sort out series rules for 2009 etc, the fairies at the bottom of the garden? Waiting until 2009 to do all of this may be a tad late.

As an interim measure, the Club's ( a nominated & authourised representative ie: President ) that have applied for events for next year could hold a group meeting (as they should, anyway) & present it to State Council for consideration & approval.

I don't think this is a 'light' decision by CAMS- at least it doesn't read that way to me. I'd expect there to be some form of contingency in place... just seeing the name Geoff Arnold on the bottom of the letter indicates to me that he'll have the bases covered.

Yeah thats a good idea it would be just like a NSW rally panel meeting most of the organisers were on the Panel that has just been dismissed !!!

Get to have the same experience as Ed when comes to CAMS, don't fit the mould, you're GONE.
As one who put up their hand, filled in a form actually, to be on panel to try and help after competing since 1974, now to be told in a letter with platitudes that you and everyone else is dismissed, is in my opinion, crap.
Some of our ideas too different? Not keeping the RAP a secret squirrel society?
Events for 2009, state & clubman together? evos & wrx for clubman? level 2 licences for rallysprints?
After all, what we would know? NSW rally series current leader, Targa Tasmania winner, past NSW series winners, event directors & checkers etc.
One quite disillusioned rally person,
Richard Opie.

'There's only a few events left, so we don't need any of you' sounds like a recipe for politically motivated disaster.
Sounds to me like state exec greatly under-estimates what the RAP actually does...

Meet anyway - Just ignore the letter and meet anyway, This is so typical of the singular drive in some sections of CAMS to disenfranchise the fee paying members. Ignore them and go forth and do what you think needs to be done.

WTF????
Yeah, sure....nothing left to be done for the year. Someone really needs to pull their head out of their a...... They should have appointed an interim chairman, so the panel could fulfill it's (multiple) roles for the year.
By my reckoning, there are at least 9 events left for the year. This includes a brand new "out of the ordinary" event, which will probably need some level of guidance.
If I was a panel member and a bit bloody minded, I'd sit back and watch it hit the fan. Unfortunately, that will impact everything up to the middle of next year (and probably beyond). For the sake of the sport, please continue meeting. Even if you have no authority/recognition, at least there will be something happening.
