DRAFT 2009 NSW Rally Calendar
All,
I have uploaded the current DRAFT of the 2009 NSW CAMS Rally Calendar that the "Gang of 4" (which includes me) have been working on with event organisers up onto
www.nswrally.com
under Documents/Rally Panel
Note: We assumed the Coffs State event will be on the NSW ARC date. A big assumption that the new 2009 Panel may have to deal with.
My work is done....

Good work Jim,
However... can someone from the gang of 4 (or is it 5 counting Sosi), or the "all new bright and shiny still in the showroom 2009 NSWRAP", or NSW State Exec.. or anyone who knows something, please elaborate whats happened to....
BEGA????
Yeah, I know it fell off the radar in 2008...
However, remember this from back in early June...

Swift action following the announcement of the cancellation of the 2008 Bega Valley Rally has resulted in a commitment to conduct the event in 2009 and beyond.
Graham Roser, organiser of the event for the past 12 years, has arranged for a succession for 2009 by handing over the event to a consortium headed by Tom Snooks.
“I have come under increasing business pressure which entails significant overseas travel”, Roser said in Sydney last week when meeting with Snooks to discuss the handover.
“This has meant I simply can’t find the time that is needed these days to meet the various requirements of CAMS, shire council, et al, and it is in the best interest of the future conduct of this iconic event to have a smooth transition to another organiser.”
Snooks, who has a long history of involvement in organising major rallies, was General Manager of the Bega Valley Rally in the mid-seventies (1972 to 1978) when he was secretary of the organising club, The Australian Sporting Car Club.
“Our intention is to conduct the 2009 event, over the June long weekend, in the same very successful format of the past few years when in excess of 100 entries were attracted to the rally. We will be applying for state championship status for both New South Wales and Victoria”, Snooks said.
“When we have concluded negotiations with the various stakeholders in Bega we will be in a position to make available further details”, he added.
Ends.
Enquiries can be made to:

Oops.... Mea Culpa ....that'll teach me.. I didn't go and look at the files, but simply read the front page story about the NSW Calendar.. which I now see refers to the 2008 Calendar (please hit me hard..and repeatedly!)
..arghh its Friday afternoon, and I am desperately waiting for beer o'clock!
..and on that note... I will now knock off work (and any of this stuff) and go take a loooong rest!
apols apols apols...
... Yours VERY apologetically

Unfortunately Narooma isn't happening in 2009.
However it is planned to return in 2010.

There is a pace-noted forest Rally available on October 3/4 - Saturday pace noting, Sunday rally a mere 6 hours South East of Canberra. Even have a Monday Holiday for the drive home!
Peter Otzen - C of C AKADEMOS Round 6 of Victorian Rally Championship.
Ask Ray Baker what he thought about the 2008 event held yesterday.

Nice work, Jim
The events are well spaced out through the year too.
One minor request, could you add the AMSAG events in there? .......
