Let me be the first to congratulate you on what appears to be the biggest start list of the year!
Congratulations! Well done!

Could this be a pivotal occourance for the sport?
CAMS should be feeling the odd one out here.
Probably about time.

That is the way it used to happen.

Jme: That field is bloody huge! Should keep you on your toes for your first effort. I am starting to get jealous that I can't be there.

It looks like Forsberg needs a navigator for this event - I'm available if required!

I had Adriana one car higher than 68... then Andrew Williamson withdrew. Bugger.
There is a typo or two on the list which I am sorry for. Will fix.
Still need officials. If someone is keen to come up and keep an eye on the spectator point it would be nice.
It's not a true seed, but with the longest stage at 18k I can't see any catches. I thought it was important to 'blend' the classics and moderns inside the top ten.
I think the list proves that the entries are there. People want to rally, and the general vibe I am getting is that this event is well priced and easy. There are no real series at stake, no points for grabs etc. Just a rally- lets go and do it.
I can't see any real anti-CAMS attitudes, more positive AMSAG attitudes. There is a belief in the club that we can provide quality events and our tails are up after a successful year. Jenolan, Bathurst, Cowra, SMR and now Oberon- we are averaging approx 50 entries per rally. That is good form when you look at the numbers of some CAMS events.
Hopefully a few people more people will consider becoming AMSAG members into the new year. The more the club grows, the more we can offer.
At the very least get up and have a look at the rally. It will be worth the drive.

I thank AMSAG for being on the right track,
I owned my current car for 15 years, the fj20t motors been in it for 13 years,
it started life as a quick road car, then a track car, then it progressed to a khanacross car,
now I want to progress into rallies, I find that I'm unwilling to invest more money into the car to start again with the drive train and throw
away ( sell cheap) a drive train I've spent a fair bit of money on,
with CAMS I'm up the creek, at least with AMSAG I get to have a go in a reasonable car
I may only enter a few rallies but at least I get a go at it

Yeah that's where I'm at. I think that Class U is needed in all rallying. Not everyone wants to run, or can run a particular type of car and their needs to be some concession to allow them to compete.
I'd like to see a MT2 class in AMSAG next year, as I think this is a relatively cheap form of horsepower, a variety of vehicles and a fast, exciting class to compete in. I don't want to run behind an L18.
The AMSAG classic regs are for the most part effective. I think we protect that series, keep it as it, and run a second category for Class U and Modern cars just like Oberon regs. Personally I'd maybe like to see the classes in the AMSAG classic series revised to somehow recognise 'production' type cars running original engines/capacity etc, but also allow the 2.4L Twin Cam grunters. Maybe 4 pre-91 'production' capacity classes, and then a class for engine transplants and 'modifieds' but just my opinion. I love Datsuns but get sick of seeing them. We need regs to encourage other makes.

I like your line of progression.

Not entirely, if organisers run a Schedule R only compliant event (separate permit, just like the Allcomers at Coffs) it can be done, but why should they have to? & why should you (as a competitor) have to bother with it as well?
Dumb, dumb, dumb.
The AMSAG formula works & that is primarily what attracts entries, well run events round off the deal.
