Hyundai Signs Solberg for 2009 NSW Excel Series
Hyundai Motor Corporation this evening announced that ex Subaru WRT driver Petter Solberg has been signed to contest the 2009 RaceBrakes Sydney NSW Excel Series.
On signing this contract Solberg commented "well this has gotta be better than goingn back home and running the farm or writing gravel notes for my brother so i'll give it a go. I look forward to competing in these marvellous rally weapons, it will be most enjoyable. What really sealed the deal for me in the end wasn't the money, it was the chance to compete against the likes of The Faz, Fro, Haggers and Dave Roberts. Mick Gillett enjoy your reign, finally, in 2009 i might just be able to win another title."
Petter also hopes that he will be seeded lower in the field and is looking forward to seeing a "Haggers Full Moon".
Petter will be joined in the Excel during 2009 by Dale Moscatt. Dale has no comment at this time.
Ex Hyundai Works driver Wayne Bell will be managing Solberg's team for the upcoming season. Wayne commented "The 2009 Excel series will be tough for Solberg, Haggers must finally be coming into form, so the competition will be tough. If he can beat the Faz then he probably did deserve that world championship title."
More news will follow closer to the first event, with Solberg currently relocating himself and family to Ric Cary's empty shed whilst the evo is being repaired.

Forget about Solberg coming here, whats the possibility of Haggers taking on the WRC in the Excel? With no Subaru, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Ford? leaves the gate wide open.

In breaking news Hyundai have pulled out of the ARC and cancelled the Solberg contract. It appears that the TV contribution that is expected as a manufacturer is actually more than the entire value of the highly developed buzzboxes. When challenged on this issue an unnamed official said "well they shouldn't be able to gain the magnificent exposure that is the ARC for free. They must contribute".
Petter Solberg has apparently indicated his disappointment and has alleged that this is all a conspiracy by haggers to avoid having his large round bottom handed to him on a plate.
Petter also revealed that he only got the drive in the first place - by asking belly a question on this very forum.
