Not like its the ARC or anything...... 145KM of rally on good roads should not taken for granted, if you do take this sort of event for granted your a * with out exeption.

And in keeping with the requirements of the Victorian Rally Championship, there will no doubt be a "remote refuel" between the start and first Service - or many cars not actually reaching that first Service. Minimum would be 45 km from the start or 45 km from the service [if there is that much room], and refuelling is only allowed at an official refuel area - with appropriate officials and safety setup.

Yeah, what Swill said.

Understanding that the entry form is a contract between event organiser and competitor, as a result of this action you have broken the contract we signed for, so it is your responsibility to offer a full refund for the said breach.

This info was know for some time (hey Claude)

Organisers - I need to make some decisions, please give me more information on what the rally actually will be. I dont have enough service crew for a remote refuel. I need to look at cancelling plane flights. We have not made the decision to withdraw YET, but without information I have to presume certain things. I need to look at our accommodation - give me quick info and let me make a quick decision, its in your interests.

Still no full and frank explanation from the organisers would have thought they would jump at the opportunity after Geralds insight into events.

Not sure if your a Tosser or not ..... The thing is it isn't Bega, "Bega" is the Shire Rds that's what makes the event, Thats why the organisers were pumping up the Shire Rd factor as late as last week.

I'm sure from what I've heard that the forest stuff around Eden will be great, although a 45k stage run twice is fraught with danger, inclement weather or a major incident effectively chops 90k's out of the event, however if its a forest rally around Eden it should have been promoted as such and arranged as such, whats the point of starting and finishing in Bega and spending all your hard earned in Bega and then transporting 75k's to the first stage.and another 75ks to the finish
I'm sure the Motels,Shops,Café's and petrol stations in Eden are just ecstatic that they aren't getting a share.

If this is the way of the future next years RoL may get a name change to Rally of Sydney and we will transport 130ks to lithgow ......ooops thats been done before

Exclamation 2009 Bega Valley Rally - Draft Start Order

Hi all,

A PDF has been uploaded here http://www.vicrallychampionship.com....entry_list.pdf

That contains the draft starting order for the 2009 BVR. This is obviously our first crack at combining all the seeding information, so please don’t shoot me if it’s not quite right!

Constructive feedback welcomed to my email address.

Cheers,
Andrew Ormesher

Exclamation Email to all competitors

Hi all,

Anyone who supplied an email address to me on their entry form should have received a letter from Tom Snooks, Clerk of Course this morning.

Those competitors without email will receive a copy via post with the Further Regs as soon as Aus Post can deliver them.

If you haven't received this feel free to contact me at my email address below.

Cheers,
Andrew Ormesher

Hmmmm, only just had time to read all this. Glad I didn't enter now as the only reason I wanted to was because I was hanging to run the Evo on Upper Cobargo.

We didn't enter the rally, but the idea was tossed around before we trashed the car at Rally Q. Logistically for us it would have been a nightmare getting there, but for us it is worth it, as the shire roads (one in particular) holds very special memories for us. (Too corny and embarrasing to mention here).

I have no doubt that the Eden rally has great roads. The forest roads are lovely down there, but contrary to what some might think, there really are a lot of people who go to Bega just to run the shire roads. Our times aren't quick, but it's still why we enter every year. I can tell you that if we had entered the rally with the assurance that it included the shire roads, only to find out at the last minute that it didn't, I'd be mighty p***ed off. I'm hoping there's a legitimate explanation as to why it would take until a week before to let people know, but from the previous replies, it seems that may not be the case.

It's possible that the organisers of the event don't realise just how important the shire roads are to the Bega event, therefore didn't think it necessary to make it clear there may be a problem with them being included. That's all I can come up with anyway.

I'm sure everyone who's entered will still have a great rally, but it's still a disappointing outcome for those who do enter Bega because of the Shire roads.
