That is the way it used to happen.

Word on the street and in the supp regs is that there is an allowance for a whopping 120. plus reserves
My estimate is that it will be full and a particular yellow datsun 1600 will be first reserve, but for the first time ever, every car turns up and reserves are not used
Get your entry in pronto.
Kidding... Kidding..hey those rims look good in the daylight. Thanks

I hate jazz. It is the musical equivalent of rampant lantana. Then there are the tossers wearing berets, smoking Gauloises and poncing on about existentialism and sublime chordal confluence of the timbre. I once got stuck in a pub with a group of them. I'd rather have a haemorrhoidectomy without anaesthetic.

Just a note to say something about stuff that goes on so all can enjoy a good event. Last weekend from Armidale Garry Yeomans drives via gloucester to join up with Kam Baker and go to Bega to check/write roadbook for rally, and then back again. Round trip 2000 kms.
It will be a good roadbook, hey Kam?

Of cause Boss
The organisors have selected some great roads, whilst the traditional 3 shire roads start the day, the forest roads have been somewhat changed/reformatted for what will make a great event.
The 44km Stoney stage is nothing short of a ball buster!! The first 9km is technically tight & twisty and flows, after this hang on co-drivers the next 30 odd km is very very fast flowing road along a ridge line, with the stage tightening up to the finish. Many surface changes. If the stage winner doesn't average over 100kmph I'll be surprised
They have sourced a great service park at Edrom Road with acres of hard packed gravel surface to service on, and not far to the forest spectator points so the service crews should be able to get out for a look easy.
From a checkers point of view the organisors have paid plenty of attention to detail and it is a well presented event, a must to enter.
The roads are brillant and includes Snake Trail but this year running down not up (I will say no more on this bit of road as I can take it or leave it).

They won't get 100 Tom- won't get close. Lithgow was a round of everything and just over 40 started. Taree has 9 I think I read and that is clubman/excel. I just can't see where the competitors are gunna come from? A few rallies in the ACT around that time as well. I'm not sure of the Victorian situation but NSW is pissweak.
I'm happy to be proven wrong. It's a good event and all but this is about as dead as I've seen CAMS rallying ever. I was aiming for Camden Haven then Myall but after reading that Taree is struggling for a field I got on the phone and started planning for BRM Safari cause that event is more likely to run cause ACT people will support it. I'll still run CH but with a small field last year and a weaker rally climate this year I'm gunna hedge my bets both ways. Even Awaba for the State Rallysprint seemed low in comparison to usual on the weekend. The competitors simply aren't there at the moment.

JME,
I tend to agree that things are quieter, but keep in mind that everyone I asked at the beginning of the year, "what events you doing?"
"not doing much, but I am going to do Bega and the Alpine". So my guess is that they will get numbers in spite of a general downward trend.
Cheers
Damien

Two things help Bega with entry numbers....
1. Its Bega.
2. It's a round of the NSW, ACT AND the VIC championships....three "states" worth of entries has gotta help the numbers....
