I am a little dissapointed he did not jam the throttle cable in the door, and just use the key when slowing was required. Maybe he has gone soft.

Shab has a story about the co-driver doing some gear work too.

I think Car 29 should keep an eye on the mirror. And no offence, I dont even know who that is

After speaking to Dale ...I'm thinking shenanigans may be afoot

Actually

1. Geoff Portman
2. Brad Goldsbrough
3. Jeffrey David

Also note that the "new breed" Ross Allan, Andrew Bell and Mike Conway slipped under many an interstate radar to be in the top 7. Andrew could have finished higher had he not slipped off the road [briefly?] on the last stage - at the same place that Fro ultimately got up close and personal with a tree.

A reminder/hint/explanation for all those coming to the Alpine in 2011.
When you get on to West Boundary Road [as we always eventually do] EVERY left hand bend is at least 90 degrees, often more, and SHARP and all blind. There are about 8 of them. They are usually followed by a right hand hairpin - but you can see those coming. Have a look at google maps, including the satellite view.

My thanks to Matt Thompson for lending an engine mount to ensure I could finish the last three stages of the event.

Peter.

Peter, you are most welcome.

My event report is to come. Let's just say that I need some rest.

Huge thanks to the guys from car 27 (I think), Richard will be in contact about the master cylinder. Thanks also to the Snooks guys for the seal and the teflon tape, they worked a treat.

Special mention to the folks at Lakes Auto Parts, very helpful guys..
