Putting weight on 'match fitness' as well as past and current speed, then I reckon the winner will be one of the following:

Stewy.
Jeff David.
Portman.
Snooks.
Goldsborough.

Not to talk anyone down ('cause they're all gonna hose me!) but I reckon Murray, Kari, Dickie and Jack will take too long to get out of the blocks, and this will hurt their chances of contesting for the outright (although I doubt that anyone wants the win more than Kari, and it is a long rally).

As fast as Semmens is, I reckon he's up against too many hares for his 'fast tortise' approach to pay off (unless he turns up the wick or is lucky).

Officer hasn't previously had the car to challenge for the win, but I wonder how/if the new HRA regs will benefit him.

Batten doesn't seem to hav the right balance of speed and reliability for this event - but I'm basing that more on gut-feeling than up to date knowledge of his form.

I'd love to see a NSW sweep of the podium postitions...
