2009 Eco Point Murramarang Bay Stages Rally. 24th October 2009
What do we have planned for this year’s event?
The Rally will again be run out of Murramarang Resort and is a round of the NSW State Championship, PCD Engineering ACT Regional Rally Series and 2009 Race Brakes Sydney NSW Excel Rally series. The event is made up of a long and short course. We will also be running the Starters Rally again this year.
Long event $490.00 Short Event $355.00 Starters Rally $150.00
Lay out of the event: -
Scrutineering and documentation will open at 18:00 on Friday 23/10/09. Scrutineering available on Saturday morning by special arrangement and competitors are encouraged to have their Cars regionally scrutineered.
Stage lengths between 7km and 32km.
This year there will be no repeat stages, and will offer every thing from open Shire type road sections to the tight and technical. Stage 5 hasn’t been used for many years and has all of the above in one stage.
The Long event will be made up of 8 stages, with 143.6 km competitive, 139.79km Transport.
The Short event will be made up of 6 stages, with 105.6km competitive, 87.39km transport. The long and short events will be seeded together and run the first 6 stages as one.
The Starters Rally will be made up of 4 stages, with 68km competitive.
All service will be in a Central Service Park, Catering will be provided by the Tiger‘s football club canteen, Toilets are available.
Officials:-
Officials are needed to make this event happen, there is a down side of having all Unique Stages with NO repeats of the best roads available on the south coast. We need more officials to man the stages, the up side, officials will be out of the forest earlier. Last year we had Accommodation for officials however this didn’t work as well as expected, due to the fact so many Canberra based people returned home after the event had finished. This year the organizing committee decided to give fuel vouchers to the value of $90 for start control 3 people min, $60 finishes control 2 people min and $30 for a road closure 1 person min to help offset the cost to our much needed officials.
Accommodation: -
Accommodation for competitors and officials is similar to last year with Murramarang heavily discounting their prices for the Friday and Saturday night. More details on this in the near future.
Presentations:-
Presentations will be held at Murramarang resort after the rally on Saturday Night and the bar will be open until 1.00am.

The beginners rally last year was our first step into the rally scene,
had a great time, even though I had a cold and felt crap from a sore throat,

From what Stewy told me, the stages are looking very good.

Bit low on comp kms for the short section though. Bit of a shame.

The RX2 is coming out and im probably gona do the Starters just as a Shakedown..... ( anyone got a spare Regenisis ....I need the rotors...)

Go to the skdac website www.skdac.org.au and then go to the Bay Stages page (click here) and click on accommodation. Its been up for about a month but there is plenty of good accommodation available and the deals are about the same as last year (some a few dollars cheaper even)
