ARcom want to hear from you.
The new ARC web site is where ARCom post their news. Today they are asking for your suggestions. See Official website of the Australian Rally Championship
So here's your chance to let them know what good ideas you have to improve rallying.

Where?
Dallas,
Was there a particular page requesting feedback?
Unless the work proxy is over-caching, I couldn't find anything apart from the newsletter sign-up.
EDIT:
Dalas, were you refering to this?

Checking the calendar - MMMMM its not 1 April, I dont understand.
Honestly - get the **** out of here.
Col and his mates just dont get it do they - rallying is not just about the ARC - ARCOM should not be connected with the ARC, one is a product the other is body for all of the sport. Why would the ARC web site be the place for ARCOM - why wouldnt the CAMS website be the correct place.
Like Ray I am fairly cranky.

ARCom wants to hear from us and have our suggestions for improving the sport?
No, ARCom wants to hear from the sheep so they can tell them that the sport is in tip top shape and that they don't need to do anything.
ARCom does not give two fifths of fug all about what we think because they represent the views of the board, not the competitors.
Check out the thread on my signature... Can you see why I'm very pissed off about it all?
I took the time, wrote an email to ARCom only to have my questions not answered and have my email blacklisted.
Yeah, They are in it for the sport.

Where's the bit where they are asking for suggestions? On what?
Looked around the site?

Latest News
2010
ARCom meets several times a year and two of those meetings are face to face. In these meetings more strategic areas of Rallying are discussed and input is sought from competitors, officials and organizers of events.
During 2009, ARCom made a number of changes to make it easier and cheaper for new entrants to compete: There is more work to be done and ARCom invite your suggestions.
The first of these face to face ARCom meetings will be held on February 12. If you have a good idea that you feel would benefit rallying at any level we welcome your ideas. Please ensure you have read the ARCom FAQ's prior to sending your submission. Send your ideas to Toby Ward at CAMS Toby.Ward@cams.com.au

Posted to SA rally.
Will see what comments we get back.
Current argument here is in regards 3 digit event numbers, and getting competitors to provide them themselves.

I reckon this is easy to explain:
They're still under the dellusion that the views on these forums are somehow unrepresentative of the wider rally population, so they're asking for input away from BMSC.com.au. This is done in the vain hope that they'll finally find someone who will tell them that they're doing a good job and everything is fine.

Oh they read it all.... And yet still say nothing.
And I must be fair. My comments are in relation to Col and his inability to answer questions without giving me the run around.

Ray, I take a bit of offence on your comments as a current ARCom member. I certainly do not and have not represented the views of the board and I know that now that ARCom is predominately made up of delegates nominated by your State Council, that your statement is incorrect! ARCom have been very different in this last year and it will continue to evolve.
While ARCom is the over arching body responsible for the sport in the country, each state panel is responsible for the sport in its respective state. In Victoria for example, we do not look to ARCom for anything really state based such as Rally Reg - that is a state issue which is different in every state. We do not look to ARCom on how we can improve the VRC - that is a state based issue. Hell we haven't even hasseled ARCom over the Hancocks forests as it is a purely Victorian issue!
We look to ARCom to get the overall rules and regs that we all operate under and this extends to permit fees and such as is necessary and hopefully to reduce the barriers to entry to our sport. ARCom on the other hand is the only body that can deal with the ARC although from what I can see that really is being done by the ARC (rallycorp) group who report directly to the board and who take feedback from ARCom (I might be wrong on this but that has been my perception)
Cheers

Well I'd be careful with a statement like that, the CAMS mole has probably forwarded it through to the President for your dismissal.
ARCom does not represent the competitors. Its sole aim is to represent the board of CAMS TO the competitors. And if I'm wrong, Can you please obtain a broken down list of income per state that rallying brings in? Care to bet $50 on you getting the info?
While my post was generalised re: ARCom it is mainly directed at Col ( as per my post above) for his antics in not answering questions, I can see some people who are there to effect change (I.E- YOU!) but sadly, some are there to not rock the boat.

Thanks for that Ray. Frankly though, I don't care what the board thinks or wants - my role is to make this sport as good as it can be, as difficult as that may be. Of course it is tough as you have a gazillion different views on pretty much everything!
Your probably right on the list of income per state that rallying brings in and my chances of getting it but even if it was provided what value would that info provide? you can email me off line if you like.
Victoria is certainly trying to do something about the direction of the sport from the top down. We have been reliably informed that as far as the board is concerned it just is a few disgruntled people in Victoria and that we have no support for our actions from the other states. Makes change hard at all levels doesn't it!
Cheers

Perhaps if the views of CAMS Members within NSW (or other states) are not properly represented (to the current point in time) it's up to a bunch of individuals to write letters to the Board informing them that we do indeed support the actions of the Victorian Clubs? Would that help???? Surely they can't ignore a myriad of letters from individuals???
