Dude if you want to see Loeb in some skin tight shorts, good luck to you.. I'm sure youtube will help your cause..
on a local front, I'd guess either you tube or such or perhaps video from Ray Day's last night out in melbourne may provide the same of Simon Evans if that's what you are after. In any case, good luck to you.
jokes aside, there are simply too many of us that are sitting on the sidelines due to bull**** requirements for competition..
As quite correctly articulated by Factor: "Oh dear - here we go again how many times have we had this debate. I'm too lazy to search - I am sure someone will. "

Regarding Relevance of safety clothing in Competition, common sense must be part of the equation.
When we all transport to an event and drive to work in a fireproof suit with a car equipped with a firebomb, then it becomes more relevant.
More serious injuries occur in daily life and many other so called safe sports.
If we do not address the lack of common sense application in our Rules at various levels we will have no sport, because to have such you need people to compete, our Rules are seeing those numbers continue to drop.
Rules with no broad viewpoint of the consequences of adopting such Rules will always cause more Harm than Good, this is why Consultation is a must as nobody wins when other approaches are taken,we have more than enough evidence of that.
When will people in charge wake up,and if they refuse to,then they must go as they end up being the problem or the cause thereof.

Thank f!&^ for that... for a second there I thought a thread trying to get rid of useless rules was going to result in us wearing lifejackets and carrying flares in motorkhanas!

My Evo when it came over from Japan had a factory Flare holder and the flare still in, I was tempted to leave it there just in case i was lost at sea

,
Did it come with paperwork for Dangerous Goods in transit?

Why does a car built Jan 2000 onwards need a firebomb instead or as well as hand held fire extinguishers? Are they more prone to catching on fire than ones built 20 years ago? Surely newer cars would have to meet some sort of ruling about toxic emissions when they combust?
I'm just glad my car was built Nov 1999 so isn't as likely to catch on fire as one that rolled off the production line two months later .

Firebomb plus 2 kilos of handheld fire extinguisher.

Excellent ! lets use that rule I'll take my suit in the boot, should I have a really big one and the car catches fire I'll jump out put my suit on and put the fire out ..... works for me, I have done my own risk assesment and am more than happy to be held responsible for my actions where do I sign

That's the problem FULLSTOP.
They* will not let you be accountable for your own actions.
- If you want to jump out of a plane and do not triple-check your chute, YOUR problem.
- If you want to rally in your socks and jocks, YOUR problem**
- If you want to deep dive head-first straight into a sand bank between flags on a patrolled beach, YOUR problem.
But alas the world is full of numpties who need everything spelled out for them and quite like living in a nanny-state/country.
I, on the other hand, will weigh up any given situation and choose to enter that situation myself and on behalf of my family. And if it all goes wrong...... MY fault and no one elses!!!***
Note: This example obviously does not cover things that could be dangerous to other people, only to myself/themselves.
* Who ever 'they' are in any particular situation eg governing body, rule makers etc.
** Well it could be a problem for controllies and other competitors but only to their eyes.
***Obviously does not cover neglectful situations

the pointless rule that's shirting me today - I can't believe that they make companies put out bloody stupid disclaimers like "serving suggestion". FFS, its so bloody obvious that the corflakes box does not contain fresh milk and a bowl and strawberries. Do they really need to put that on there.
and "this TV commercial doesn't take into account your personal circumstances." well, Jeez. thanks for the heads up.

I've asked this question of the checkpoint dudes- they have no answer...
so just to **** them now I take the lid off before I go through, wait for them to pull me up, put the lid back on for them, and then go " so, what happens if it falls off again when I walk over there..."
