That would be me then.
Wont be available - I will be anchored in Lady Musgrave lagoon about then, otherwise I would be there with bells on.

WHY do they need a chat seesion when there's been half a dozen threads right here that they only need to download, splice the legit comments from spam and you have enough to keep busy with for years?
How many times do people need to repeat themselves?

That is a jolly good point, Marcus.

That is the way it used to happen.

Fair suck of the control arm...!
So many claim that these guys are not representive of rallying, They clearly dont have to do this, so heres your chance to voice your opnions and better still put forward some constructive points. They read the threads here, but strange as it may seem there are others out in rally land that don't read this forum and want to talk them. Here's everyones chance.

Silly me, just found it!! And there I was looking for a " Informal Chat Session" heading rather than " 2010 Latest news"

The people who will participate in a live chat.... are almost certainly right here right now.
Dallas, the problem I have right now is that CAMS and associates have been pulling talkfest out of their collective backsides for 15 years. Nothing changes. Excuse me for being cynical, but the actual guy who decided to change things got tossed out. And what the hell happened to the bloody competitor survey not long back????
And frankly, every single big issue is repeated here time and time again. I'm sorry, but the time for talk is over. There's been more than enough gabbing on and the issues are many and not being addressed, except for minor snipping around the edges.
Now this may not be a rally issue.... well okay it is because it's the future..... but as the guy who these days organises events for a resonably large club, I'm staring at my CAMS permit application and I've realised I do not have the "qualified" officals. Unless I find a CoC, the event is a no go. And yet under AASA, I dont have to do this crap, I appoint a suitibly competent person and I'm done. So what the hell happens when there's no qualified CoC's to run events? Dont think it cant happen and right here is a problem that has been staring us in the face for 10 years, made worse by CAMS.
Why on earth do I need to go on a chat to B&M about this all over again? WHY ISNT **** BEING DONE RIGHT THE HELL NOW ABOUT THIS LONG STANDING ISSUE???
Sorry Dallas but another talkfest is wrong and it seriously rubs me the wrong way. We need action, not chats.
And I've been happy to make good well mannered points and talk in the past. But when I see so little done and the issues fester, I'm done talking, it's all been a fat waste of my time. I have problems that should have been solved years ago to deal with and I have run out of patience.
I have not renewed my CAMS licence. I will not do CAMS events if I can avoid it. I will not run CAMS permit events if I can avoid it. I am now backing my words with action
AMSAG got sick of CAMS crap and acted.
So how about ARCom / CAMS shut the ever living **** up, admot the time for talk is long past over and actually compete to get MY business back?

Because if they keep asking for input, they hope to eventually get input that says "Everything's great! We're happy!", and then they'll be able to pat themselves on the back and tell everyone how they were right all along.
Even though it will never work, this approach is much easier than walking the minefield of trying to keep both the board and the punters happy.
(An aside: When were the last times you heard the term "silent majority" used? For me, it was our ARCom Chair, and anti-RRA protestors.... Says a helluva lot about the whole concept of a silent majority in an age when the vast majority everyone has ways to have their views heard).

I encourage everyone to skip the session and to do something positive for the sport.
Spend your 5 minutes promoting the sport, encouraging people to join. Organise a friend to official for the next event. Ring the CofC for the next event and ask them if there is anything you can do to help. Organise tp bring a person to the next event/club meeting and let them experience the sport. Have a mate come over and do some work on your car.
Because if you can accomplish one of those options, it will have been more valuable to the sport than talking to certain people within ARCom who don't want to rock the boat.

Everyone should be doing that already Ray, jumping into this chat would also be a good idea, if it's aimed at those rally people in general who don't use this forum etc, then maybe they need to be told what we see as issues in the sport... anyways, it really hasn't been publicised, i wonder who has been told of this online talkfest, i mean, surely anyone with a CAMS rally license will have at least got an email and a snail mail about it, surely... hang on, every person with a rally license checks rally.com.au to know about this.

As much as I laughed my ass off with this actually great suggestion, I think that we should all go to the chat session and someone asks
"So this weekend, there's a State rallysprint under CAMS with 6 competitors. The day before up the road, there's AMSAG with 60. So what exactly is CAMS doing wrong?"
Sriously, this would be bloody gold. I could also ask why the hell should I renew my CAMS licence when i dont have a car with rego......
