The blacksmiths inn 150 - officials

Hi all,
Munch and the crew from Pacific Rally Club have requested that i organise some officials from the Mid North Coast, i thought that BMSC would be a good place to start.

Event to Start and Finish from The Blacksmiths Inn, Stuarts River Rd, Johns River, approx. 25 mins. north of Taree, camping is available.

Could any interested parties please contact Chris on 0427 652 001 or via email, also Clubman competitors wanting to gain officiating points please let the organiser's know and they will pass your details to me (must be before the close of entries though!, with phone and email please).

Cheers, Chez

Hi boys,

I'm new to rallying. Can someone explain to me what are officiating points please? (and why you need them)

Mitchell

There's a few different types - road closures, start control and finish control. If you're new and want to get involved, start out by doing some road closures. In a nutshell, you will be put in place at an intersection on the road/stage, to stop people from entering the stage. Most people are OK, if they show up and still want to go on, tell them to wait until the next car - they usually change their mind pretty quick.

Really, it is like having your own private speccy point.

Start and finish controls are exactly that - they control the timing at the start and finish line. To get an idea of how it all works, the best advice I can give is to show up at a few rallies and watch what goes on - it's not hard to pick up and it's good fun. Don't be afraid to ask a few questions, especially if you see someone who isn't doing much - we don't bite.

On that note, I highly doubt I'll be able to scrape the funds together to compete, so I might make the trip down and do a control or road closure - I need to sort out what is happening with uni this week before I can confirm though, if I can I'll fire off an email soon.

The forum automatically adds a 'mailto' command to the front of any email addresses. This means that anyone using Outlook, Thunderbird or similar email program can just click the link and it'll automatically open their email client so they can just type the message and hit send.

If you have Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail and access it through your browser you'll have to copy and paste it (just like normal text) into the address bar in a new email message after you've opened up your inbox.
