Bay Stages 2010
Bay Stages 16th October 2010
________________________________________
2010 Eco Point Murramarang Bay Stages Rally. 16th October 2010.
What do we have planned for this year’s event?
The Rally will again be run out of Murramarang Resort and is a round of the NSW State Championship, Autotech Services ACT Regional Rally Series and RallySchool.com.au NSW Excel Rally Series. The Event will be run as a meeting consisting of 3 sub events:
1:- 2010 Ecopoint Murramarang Bay Stages Premier Rally. Run over eight different stages with competitive distance of approximately 145km and Total distance of approximately285km.
2:- 2010 Ecopoint Murramarang Bay Stages State Rally. Run over eight different stages with competitive distance of approximately 145km and Total distance of approximately 285km.
3:- Ecopoint Murramarang Bay Stages Novice Rally. Run over four different stages with a competitive distance of approximately 65km and Total distance of approximately 110km.
Cost: - In true SKDAC style we are putting on an affordable rally keeping the costs to a minimum.
Bay Stages Premier Rally $355.00.
Bay Stages State Rally $475.00.
Bay Stages Novice Rally $160.00.
Start & Finish:-
Start will be from the Central Service Park, Mackay Park in Batemans Bay, Finish will be at Murramarang Resort. Finger food will be supplied by SKDAC to the competitors.
On top of the normal trophies, all Teams will have the chance of winning their FULL ENTRY FEE BACK. (Conditions Apply) Yes that’s right 3 teams will be randomly selected and receive their entry fee back, the conditions are. Enter the rally in any of the three Sub Events, Start the rally, and be at the Presentation when the draw is made.
Lay out of the event: -
Scrutineering and documentation will open at 18:00 on Friday 15/10/10. Scrutineering available on Saturday morning by special arrangement and competitors are encouraged to have their Cars regionally scrutineered.
Stage lengths between 7km and 32km. This year’s roads will not disappoint offering everything from open Shire type road sections to the tight and technical.
All service will be in a Central Service Park, Catering will be provided by the Tiger‘s football club canteen, Toilets are available.
Officials:-
Dave Roberts is our official’s co-ordinator this year and is actively looking for officials. If there is a down side of having eight Unique Stages with NO repeats it’s the number of officials need to run the event. The up side, officials will be in the forest for less time and will be able to spectate before or after in most cases. Last year the organizing committee decided to give fuel vouchers to the value of $90 for start control 3 people min, $60 finishes control 2 people min and $30 for a road closure 1 person min to help offset the cost to our much needed officials. This was appreciated and while the feedback was it was not necessary its SKDAC’s way to say thanks and will be offered again this year.
Accommodation: -
Accommodation for competitors and officials is similar to last year with Murramarang heavily discounting their prices for the Friday and Saturday night. More details on this in the near future.
Presentations:-
Presentations will be held at Murramarang Resort after the rally on Saturday Night and the bar will be open until 1.00am.
We have made the Bay more affordable, offering everything the bay is known for, and some incentives to help us attract a full field.
For more info keep an eye on SKDAC’s Web site and of cause this forum.

Wayne,
Will the running schedule allow for competitors in the Novice Rally to be officals later in the day? I've done that in the past and it was great fun, might get some questions from newbies in my club.
Cheers,
Andrew.

One of my fave events ever!
Hopefully we'll make it down there this year.
State event in that part of the world for under $500 - brilliant work SKDAC

Sorry for probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between the premier rally and the state rally. The same number of stages and competitive distance, but different in price. Is it just that the state round is more expensive due to whatever reason?
I am drinking port, therefore am somewhat lagging in intelligence tonight.
Oh, and I do believe this will be our one and only rally this year. Woo hoo.

Road position and the price.
To my knowledge, the Premier rally entered vehicles will be first on the road as they are the larger 'customer' base and we want to make them happy so they continue to come to our event I could be wrong tho, but I'm pretty sure I'm not
As for price, CAMS requires that we pay more per car if they're in a State round plus there's a heap of additional pain (hoops which cost money) for Organisers who run State rounds.

Yes Andrew Stages 7 & 8, Stage 7 is one of the longer stages and requires the most manpower, any novice competitors that want the full rally experience are very welcome to back up and do a road closure. The novice section will run first, and is in the draw for their entry fee back if they are at the Presentation. Sp instead of struggling for a position to watch at a speccy point to fill in the rest of the afternoon, they will get a much better view on their own road closure
Wayne
