East Coast Classic
Evening All,
Just wondering who from the BMSC or LCCC is heading to Bathurst later this week/weekend to official or compete.
Our club is running SS17 near Oberon on Friday with most staying at the accommodation on Conrod Straight (Goldfields I think?) on the Thursday and possibly Friday nights.
No doubt there will be beer and rally-talk in abundance. See you there, or else at the Starmart a few weeks later.

Andrew
There is quite a few members from BMSC that will be up at Bathurst for the East Coast Classic. From the senior people running the show (Wayne, Adrian, Fiona) through stage commanders and other officials. They are spread all over the place.
For me personally, I will be doing stuff on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wont be staying overnight on Friday as I have a dinner that night in Sydney.

No worries Matt,
I've got to head to Cowra Friday night (navigating Saturday in AMSAG event), but if I see you I'll say G'day.

There are full route maps and entry list now available on the website. Today they are running a Prologue at 12:30 down the Old Pacific Hwy from Brooklyn, and tomorrow they use Eastern Ck for 2 stages and then the "Lennox Bridge" Rd near Glenbrook. I think the is also a blast around the Homebush Tennis Centre at the finish on Sunday. The rest of the stages are in the Blue Mtns or Bathurst/Oberon/Blayney/Lithgow area.
regards,
Darren

Just posted a few snapshots from the rally on mfoto
A few people seemed to be trying real hard when I saw the cars at Mt Pan. In the Burnt Yards stage near Mandurama, everyone seemed a lot more tentative. It didn't help that I was near the end of the stage and all the touring guys had fanged it up till that point and then dawdled past to keep to their average speed...
This must be the hardest rally to spectate on ever! Side roads onto the course were scarce so you basically had to get in the stage before it was closed. So many of the roads on Mt Pan were used, that it was difficult to get in to see anything. I was lucky to get to where I did! Thanks to those officials who didn't tell me to P.O. 8)
The Renault 5 was awesome, it shot out of the corners like a scalded cat! It was also worth it just to hear the sound of those Ferraris and Robnells.... sweeeeet

That XA was certainly a crowd-pleasing beast Looked like he was having an absolute ball! Giant howlies everywhere he went, especially near Holden signs.... It looked like a bit of a boat, but it seemed to corner surprisingly well compared to some of the cars.

DK, you certainly take some beautiful photos! Speaking of which, I'll be buying that hi-res one of me...
The one and only car I have ever "terminated" was a mate's XB coupe. Did it 3 months before I got my P-plates...

Thanks dude! I'm really enjoying taking pics this year with my new equipment. Makes life so much easier! Sorry I had to bump Agent Orange from the hi-res page, that was some great attitude you had going there.
Poor Ed!

DK,
Did you get any shots of the red Mustang (car 10 - Peter and Sharyn McAlpine)?
If so I'll let them know at our next club meeting so they can get in contact with you.
Great work on the XA 8)
Andrew.

Did you get any photo's of the $100,000 sweep car. I would love to see some of them if you did.
I think it needs some new brakes......
We put about 1200 k's on it over the weekend.
The DASTC (anti skid control) can get a little scary at times
