2011 Forbes Inn Rally of Forbes - Round 3 Pipe King AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series
|
|
The Forbes Inn Rally of Forbes is the 3rd round of the 2011 Pipe King Rally Series and will take place on Saturday 18th June on the fantastic Shire roads in the Forbes region
Based out of the Western NSW township of Forbes, the Forbes Inn Rally of Forbes will consist of a varying mixture of Shire Roads of the Forbes Region, including the fast, fine gravel stages to the North East of Forbes, to the Red Clay based stages around the Township of Eugowra, as well as a monster 45Km+ forest stage in Back Yamma State Forest. The event will consist of just over 190Km’s of competitive stages including a monster 49Km stage to finish off the days competition.
There will also be a single central Service Park at the Showground in Eugowra.
With fantastic support from the local council, plans are in motion for an amazing spectator stage that will bring the event up close and personal for the public, further details will be announced when they become available.
For those of you concerned that this will be a flat out blast like the AMSAG Cowra Shire Rally, please don’t be misled by this being a Shire Rally as well, whilst this event utilizes the awesome, smooth and fast shire roads of the Forbes region, the stages themselves prove to be a lot more technical then those of the Cowra area, with a lot less of the long straights followed by a tight corner then another long straight, this events nature is completely different given the natural terrain being a lot more undulating then the flat plains of Cowra.
AMSAG are pleased to advise AASA Licences will also be accepted for this event.
As well as being Round 3 of the Pipe King Southern Cross Rally Series, this event will also be Round 2 of the 2WD Rally Masters Series, and also Round 2 of the AMSAG Rookie Series.
Supp Regs are now available on the AMSAG website, AMSAG - Australian Motorsport Action Group - Home of the Southern Cross Rally Series so get your entry in fast for this unique event.

Cant wait for this one!!! The roads out there are apparently absolutely brilliant! Never seen them myself but have heard that they are filled with re-entrant corners over crests the whole way along. And on super smooth grippy gravel. Have even heard that they are similar to Eden but I wont sign on that as I am yet to see them for myself. Still super excited though.
I'll be there for sure!
And no cans for me this time thanks...

Just a quick note from the event secretary, the entry fee includes full catering for driver and navigator, meaning Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be supplied.

The roads are fantastic, very much like Eden, it will be a great event.
I posted a video on the AMSAG YouTube Channel for last years event that didn't end up running, unfortunately i have moved since the video was made and also lost my computer to a virus so i don't have the original footage and can't make another version with the current details, however you can still see the quality and condition of the roads.
Check out the video here:- AMSAG - Forbes Inn Rally of Forbes

Oh good on ya. Now you've done it lol. The last thing those boys need is encouragement. They should be there in some way shape or form. Guess you'll just have to wait and see....

Not going to run but will probably turn up to drink beers and service if someone needs a hand unless anyone needs a nav. Too many rallies, not enough cash...

Eh george, my rellos used to have a farm at mandagery and in 1979 i competed in the Parkes Festival rally run by DDC with george kahler we used Back Yamma then too, our entry was emailed and we look forward to doing some more Big Skids, a brown lemonade or 3 just like the old days, these Cottams like to enjoy themselves like myself, the young bucks today couldnt keep up the pace you know what i mean, wink wink nudge nudge say no more.
Look for the Works Kia truck and the Huge undercover service area, we are not wanting the flats that we experienced at oberon and am aiming at 4 brakes this time around not the 3 we had at oberon and look forward to seeing u at the showground.
Cheers mal sinfield and greg cottam .....................:wiggle

OK, here is a little surprise for you, as you all know the final stage of the event will be a monster 49Km stage!
Well please find attached below, thanks to our friends at Google Earth an overview of the stage itself. It is a ripper!
As has been said, the terrain around Forbes is a lot more undulating then the roads around Cowra (the other Shire event run by AMSAG). And here is the proof....
The elevation profile shows the stage starting at 338mtrs above sea level raising up to a high point of 561mtrs before dropping back down to finish at 331mtrs... definitely not flat!
We are up to approx 21 entries (19 on the website with a few more received by fax today), an up to date list will be posted tomorrow.
Get your entries in now as this event is not one to be missed!

those guys driving supercars using e85 have just crapped their pants
you might need to set up a mid stage fuel stop for them

How about a mid stage timing marker as the little excel will struggle to climb that high although it should be fun coming down again. 190km competitive, I may even have to consider bringing a jerry to the event to refuel at some stage. We may go close to using up our full 45 litre tank over this event. Give the service crew something different to do.
This event sounds awesome. Looking forward to it.
