Blue Sigma help! Need to know previous owners name?
Hi Guys and Girls
Firstly, Introductions. My Name Drew McPhee, perhaps you've heard AJC go on about a blue sigma, well thats me! We are hoping to do the ACT series next year, and hopefully the nat cap in 2 or so weeks.....
Im just wondering if anyone could help me out, Im trying to track down the name of the guy who once owned my rallycar. Its a blue sigma that AJC and i have been punting around in AMSAG rallies in, and are keen to get my paperwork in order so we can come do some ACT rallying.
The problem is that the previous owners seem to have lost the cams logbook for the car. You all know about homologating roll cages, so in short i would like to get cams to reissue the logbook from their files so i dont have to do the cage, which i am told is possible if they know where to look and if the log book is pre dec 1999 which im pretty sure it is...
Neways, here are some pix of it when it just come up from canberra. Its changed dramatically since then, but it will give you an idea of what it looked like when it was down your way....
http://www.projectracing.com/images/...ect_sigma1.htm
It was actually discussed in a previous thread, but was never really fleshed out. Here is some quotes....

If someone could shed some light, i would love to find out who it was, and get some more info on the cage etc.
Thank you all in advance

I don't have any concrete info for you (what else is new) but I can suggest a few things. Try looking through the photo gallery on this site (can't remember seeing any though), and also on http://www.mfoto.aust.com for pictures. That will tell you who drove it, and you might be able to track some stuff down from there. Failing that someone here is sure to know something that might be useful.

thanks Bogantastic, quick on the draw there!
Unfortunately i think the car had a very limited history before i got hold of it. The guy i brought it off did not run it at all, and the guy he brought it off (in canberra) apparently built it, did one Khana? and pranged it.....so if anything it may have done one event before i got it and prolly no piccies. Lets hope that this fantastic forum can come to my aid....
thanks again for your quick reply....
Cheers
Drew

I can't be 100%, but I have a pretty firm memory of Stuart MacLachlan (who now runs the little yellow Ignis) running it at a Rally of Canberra training day. I think it was the last one that we ran out at Kowen.
What year was that... 1999/2000? Stuart MacLachlan is probably the guy to ask. Don't have his phone number, but I'm sure that someone can PM it to you.

I reckon you should be able to get hold of Stuart through Cartorque in Fyshwick.

ACT Series Rego
Bump.
Log book dramas aside, I've got to get Drew registered for Clubman Driver so I can score some more nav points at NatCap.
Form and cheque are in the mail, should I fax a copy to (02) 6239 7585 mentioned in Series Conditions as well to be sure?
Also, do we need to get the ACT Series Stickers for the front guards? Will someone have a few to hand out on the morning of the rally or do we get them at documentation?
Fingers crossed we'll see you all in 2 weeks time.
Thanks,
Andrew.

Relax, its ACT series regos that close on Monday - a week before the close of entries, as per the regs.

Drew,
Read your PM's or see below.
Spac and/or Fro,
After a spot of googling I found this:
Car Torque Motorsports
68 Kembla St
FYSHWICK ACT 2609
Ph: 02 6280 8067
Is that where Stuart MacLachlan works, or are there people working there that can find him?
Thanks for the help so far,
Andrew.

Ye Gods, we may have a logbook!
Almost time to adopt the Big Kev voice and shout, "I'M EXCITED!!!"
or perhaps the Mick Molloy voice, "GOOD LORD!!!!!"
After numerous phonecalls by Drew............
Stuart M was the original owner, owner number 2 has been found about 30 minutes drive away and reportedly has the log book in his possession.
 We're nearly there..........

fanks for all the help
Yep as AJC mentioned, it was Stuarts car. As it turns out Stuart only caged and painted the car, then sold it to the previous owner who never got around to using it. So i gave it a good home...will be good to get the car back down to its homeland...
See ya all on the weekend!
