ROC Practice Day
Maybe I should clarify that LCCC membership isn't good enough for the Hyles Block practice days. For the ROC Practice day that is run in as a rally, we've got not problems....

For a club that's so active...it must frustrate you LCCC children to come to the enemy to talk...can't muster enough resources to even load up a forum ? Or would the costs put you guys under ?
Oh well, us BMSC people can sit back contented, knowing that our bank balance is enough to cover a small countries national debt, AND we can organise things like Hyles for the benefit of our members.

Took the LCCC to get the humble Motorkhana action happening again though didn't it? hmmmmm? Besides its fun to come to the forum and watch a club of hens fight amoungst themselves over the few scraps we throw them A word of warning, big comes down hard - remember Ansett?

Matt,
Honestly, I don't imagine there is much room for buying assets or resources, or whatever "Bull**** Bingo" term that I can come up with, in the LCCC's account - have to ask Daniel maybe.
Yes, it would be extremely easy, and free, to setup a Yahoo Groups E-Group. But it wouldn't be as much fun as this site. I imagine the ACT Rally community is a bit too small to support another site?
LCCC - $30 for the year's membership because CAMS forces you to join a car club. Get help from the Triple Caution Motorsport Service Crew. What else do you want?
On a slightly different constructive note, and I know this has been addressed before - good uses for the BMSC kitty. - I reckon that doing a strong TV and Newspaper advertising campaign just prior to the NatCap is the way to go. $3K buys you a fair amount of air time on TV. And do it in the last week before the event. All you need to do is show a few turbo 4WD's getting airborne or something, and a V8 rally car doing a doughie and half of Canberra will come.
Any other questions?
Mark

local radio and television stations have a local content to fulfil and sport helps a lot.
no need to pay $3k
the media day combined with 'doing the rounds' in the week prior will get some results and depends on what else happens in the community on the day of the rally.
a reserve of funds is needed to offset the financial risk the club accepts every time an event is planned - and not necessarily run.
better to spend the money on other items such as the BMSC Juniors Program - investing in people is just as useful as investing in physical assets.

Clubs and clubs...
Well, I am sure most of us joined a club so we could get a CAMS licence, enabling us to compete. Each club has its advantages and disadvantages. As 'adults' (in theory), we are all capable of deciding what things relating to each club matter to us, ie access to practice facilities, political issues, friends, meeting times and places, etc.
I personally have no partical issue with either club and have many good friends in both.
What club we choose is a personal issue and we all have to remember that we are fighting for the greater good of rallying. Fighting between clubs will only result in rallying in the ACT going down hill.
Only an opinion!!!

Hey Daniel,
does this mean by Legacys statement that only LCCC members can participate in the humble Motorkhana action!

Spot on Bede!
You are right on the ball there Bede. It is good to have friendly rivalry but don't bag each other just for the sake of it.

Bede - get off the fence!
Your either with us or against us! Besides who said I was an adult? I have too many toys to be an adult
The LCCC is better, why? just because!

Madog - nah we don't stoop to the "I'll take my bat and ball and go home" mentality - besides it's too much fun kicking their ass (and yes those be fighting words - bring it on boys)
Ray - I'd not take it too seriously, a bit of banter never hurt anyone, and if people do take it seriously - then they need help - My couch is always there and some attitude reajustment TCM style will sort them out

1) Well said Bede..
2) Maybe some of the funds from the BMSC "kitty" could be used to hire some kennards equipment... and hence keep Daniel busy..
Cheers
