CAMS Investigation into costs of rallying continues

More input required for cost reduction possibilities in State and Club events

Greatest hits include:

"We acknowledge that the Globalstar ARC is certainly the most expensive level of competition but that does not mean it will be our sole focus with this investigation. Maintaining and growing entry numbers in grass roots competition plus state level events, is also vital to the longevity of rallying", concluded Swan.

The Working Group is specifically requesting further information in relation to club and state level rallying in Australia and has asked any interested party to make a submission on how costs can be reduced in this area and how more competitors can be drawn to the sport. Submissions should be sent to rally@cams.com.au by May 15, 2004.

My personal favourite is this:-

The feedback has provided a great starting point for action in cost saving at a National level but we are still anxious to identify additional areas for cost reduction in Club & State levels.
so basically they are saying that at national level they've found the way to reduce cost for the select few( I'm not having a go at anyone who runs @ ARC level here), but they can't see ways to reduce costs of those of us who make up the majority of competitors and thusly most of CAMS revenue in terms of licensing, and permit fees for events.....
