Jerrabomberra Club Hotel Rallysprint 2004 Volunteers needed
Hi all
If you don't plan to run your car in the rallysprint we would really like to hear from you and give you something interesting to do on the day.
We currently need:
1 stage commander
2 assistant stage commanders
15 road closures
6 control officials.
Please assist if you can and pass the word around. Send me a PM if you would like to volunteer.
Az

...And we're aiming to supply Coke (can of, not line of) and Mars Bars to all Officials. Late kind of start so you DON't have to get up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday unlike the tidy up this Saturday at Cottage 5, eh Tamsey?
For Road Closures, there should be a pretty constant stream of cars passing by all day long. Shouldn't be too much waiting around with nothing happening.
Controllies - Maybe in the past you've been content to be a road closure, this would be an excellent opportunity to step up and get educated in the ways of "controllie-ness" by the more experienced people in a low-pressure environment.

If you ask me nicely, I'll send an email out to the volunteers we had last weekend...
Let me know what email / contact number you'd like me to use.

Tamsey
My Missus (Kid Mullet) and young Bloke (ET Mullet, those that have had babies will know why that name) found what she swears is a grave near where the house used to be last weekend. It had Roo bones beside it. I was TOO busy to go and have a look so can you tell me a story so I can tell her and save my sanity.
Thanks Mate

RD...
Make something up!
The guy that used to own 5 cottages there (hence the name cottage 5), got old and grey, and after his pet kangaroo died, he couldn't go on. He asked to be buried alongside his pet kangaroo right next to the house.
Since then, the cottage has disappeared, and all that remains is his ghost.

I want to learn how to do start and finish controls. Put me down but make sure I have someone to show me what to do.

I'm struggling to understand where you'd put 15 road closures in Kowen.

You'd struggle, would you?
15 road closures covers more than 10 roads that connect onto the first stage (The RoC jump stage), mainly from the North. I think this is a risky area because:
a) Fro said that locals at Womboin (spelling?) will transit through the area possibly.
b) It runs through the start area of the Mont 24 Hour track, which is in a few months time, and people start practicing (if they haven't already) so it is probably necessary to have a heavier manned presence around there. By the way if you want to do a classy road closure - do this one, it comes with toilets and a few BBQ's, shelter, tables
c) Paul Tams advised us which were necessary to have manned road closures on and which one's could be bunted. He's probably got a better eye for such thing....
And five road closures for the Southern stage (most of these originate to the east of Kowen Road as it runs up to the Settlement.
So, we're erring on the cautious side of risk management (hopefully) our first time out.
Hope this helps
Mark

Excellent, Julie. Just the spirit we're looking for... as you're getting in earlier, how about the first start control? There'll be BBQ, toilets, all the crews, spectator point and service park a stone throw away...
Thanks.
Mark

That would be good. Toilets are a particularly good selling point for me...after being in Greenhills for RoC in clear view of the Parkway..comfort tip..don't drink lots of fluids if you are female blokes can do what they like when and where they like
Ta again
