Australian Safari

A quick note to let anyone know who wasn't aware, or anyone interested in spectating or coming to the start of the Australian Safari.
The Rally will have 2 x runs on the prologue coarse (the back of Mcphillamy Park, Bathurst) with one run in each direction.
There is 27 cars due to start the prologue at 1330hrs and I believe around 70 odd bikes.
They are at one minute intervals, so there will be a good 3 or so hours of action minimum.
The official Start is in Bathurst on Monday morning if anyone is planning on a long weekend or sicky.
Hope to see you there,
8 x days, 34 stages totalling 2481 comp k's,
Bring it on!!

BMSC member Mark Wagstaff is competing in the Safari this year, sharing driving duties with George Bevan in a crazy turbo Peugeot 505 GTI.

I couldn't see your name in the draft entry list they've got on the site. Have you a more up to date one?

dk_mfoto got a bit of a rap
Could be a very interesting Prologue with the following weather forecast...

Quote:
CENTRAL TABLELANDS

Sunday
Isolated showers, clearing from the west. Possible early snow/sleet above 700 metres. Cold. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds
Mt Pan is 874m ASL... bring your winter woolies! I'll be up there for a look though, rain/hail/snow

Can't argue with the weather man, Darren! It was bluddy cold in Bathurst. Snow on the car on Sunday morning!

Very busy, very hard event so far. On stage times, we're not sure who's in front on the beer stakes, but the Pug is in front of the BA ute on total times as at the end of Thursday! Anything can happen though.

Very tough event... Mark Wagy's quote from Wednesday night was "This is the toughest event I've ever done. Tour of Mull was tough, but this is 8 times as hard."

The pug is still going! We're all happy with that. (More updates and tales available from the website!)
