Khanacross ****ta comp.
So PF is having a discussion about a *****ta racing comp. Or something. Its hard to know between all this talk of swedes and daewoos. See http://pforums.company-hosting.com/f...3&page=1&pp=50
I'm thinking about something similar for the khanacross series, if the organisers are amenable.
Rules could be something like max purchase price of car is $300, cars can be claimed at the end of each round for $500.
So I got a $140 camira for spares for the rolled rally car. I'd run that, but I'd be stupid to stick the gearbox and motor in 'cos someone could claim it from me for $500 at the end of the khana.
The GSRman/Ben W? Magna could make a second appearance, so could the Skyline of doom.
Good idea or no? Trophy would be the (by then traditional given Pleasuremax) flagon of goon.

id run the excel ****ter we have built for club events, but is now worth more then 500, because it cost $500 to rebuild the engine and to put mud flaps,rally tyres and bonnet pins on. on top of the 250 we paid for it.
Ben.

But Ben it is an Excel which automatically takes at least $250 off the price.

Good idea, but "meh"... Esp for khanas.
Nothing to stop us doing the "****box class" or similar. Just make if informal - eligibility criteria: "Is the car a ****box, or is it something decent" - don't get overly complicated. Any thing that can realistically be considered a rally car is automatically excluded.
The claimer rule can't really work, because there's almost always something on a <$200 car that's worth keeping. I have access to a $100 Capella, for example. I'd be happy to use it*, but I wouldn't because I wouldn't want my $200 worth of guards and bonnet to get claimed... (same story as your Camira engine and box).
So then I'd have to look at getting a $200 Gemi or Sunny or something, which is just another POS hanging around, unloved...
*Assuming I could justify buying another shi77y old Mazda, which I can't...

Yeah. Claimer is just so I don't go sticking proflex and quaife into $140 car. But I'd be as happy with derision and laughter stopping same. IE 'who cares enough about the *****ta comp to bother swapping that stuff in'.
But not so much 'meh'. It'd be cool. Just need Umby to build a decent jump.

but its the excel of speed Kagan, once the new cam is installed , and its megasquirted , it will be the ultimate khana weapon,
not in favour of the claimer rule, but the ****ter class should be put in.

Oh, forgot to add:
In the past, I have thought about some sort of more formalised "****box criteria" you score points for performance adding items on the car, get over a certain number of points and you're out of the SB class.
Something like:
Race seat = 5
Decent rally tyres = 10
Crap rally tyres = 5
Bald road tyres = -5
ProFlex = 50
Bilsteins = 20
Original twenty+ year old shocks = -5
Shiny paint = 5
You get the idea, but I figured it'd just end up taking forever to check the cars...
Canberra has a really uptight attitude toward cars... You should see some of the things that have been dragged out to South Nowra over the years... It'd be good to openly embrace a "who cares what it looks like, at least you're here and having a go" attitude.

Hey, I could enter in the 808 (only cost $100), but wait a minute, I already do .
I think informal is the way to go. Next khana anyone who turns up in anything cr@ppy is eligible, perhaps with whoever putting up the prize having the final say on eligibility.

And what do you do if someone wants to put a claim in on Jen's POS daily driver? If you made the claim at the right time, you could walk away with $600 worth of rego!

thanks for idea Spac. I'm sure who ever put the claim in would be reasonable and understanding, worst she takes a disqualification. Besides since it has $600 worth of rego it would be inelligible because it then becomes a $700 car.

I think we are all agree that the claimer rule is dumb, everyone knows what a ****ter is, and being laughed at by people driving something like the Skyline should be punishment enough....

Wow!! did you get the gold option rego to cost $600 for 3 months. Spac get your facts straight before you spout off.
The Claimer rule is good, it works well in other places
