Like Fro says. If you want to do the promo stage on Fri night, then you need to do doco and go to the briefing beforehand. If you're not going to do that stage, then do doco Fri night (closes 2100) and briefing Sat morning. All scrutineering at regional scrutineer if you like, otherwise between 1900 and 2100hrs (or between 1200 and 1445hrs if you're doing the promo stage).
Options galore. Seriously, who has ever seen such flexibility to get people to enter? It is great.

You've seen drafts of things that we haven't seen, doco for the big boys shuts at 1430.

[tic]Only you it seems, the rest of us are still waiting for the options to be made public .[/tic]
But I do agree it is great.
One other question, there are hijinks about starting stages simultaneously and alternating the field in these stages (or something equally as funky):
Quote:
In Heat 1 SS2 & SS4 will be run concurrently at 2 minute intervals. Cars starting SS4 will start in between cars starting SS2. Similarly, SS8 & SS10 will run concurrently. Cars starting SS10 will start in between cars starting SS8.
In Heat 2 SS14 & SS16 will be run consecutively at 2 minute intervals. Cars starting SS 16 will start in between cars starting SS 14. Similarly, SS17 & SS19 will run concurrently. Cars starting SS19 will start in between cars starting SS17.
|
Hopefully the start of the stages is just close to each other, not the same road? Surely there's not a "SS2 goes left at tulip 12 and SS4 goes right" or something whacky like that? I'm still hoping three times (Old Camp) is the most use any stage road will see other than recce and the Supa Spesh?

We started stages concurrently at Premier State Eastern Creek stages a couple of years ago. It was quite interesting how it worked due to the lack of staging area to line the cars up. Had a few issues with a few people, not getting the drift of how it was all working.
As long as the crews know how it works its fine.

Keen to see how what works? What do you know big fella? Can you assist with the logistics and preparations of Team Bogan's assault on the home of Bogan Motor Sport? They're not seriously doing that are they?

Re the whole "Two minutes between cars" but "Two stages running at once" = 1 minute between cars for a couple of k's..
This format occured recently at the NGK RoM. It seemed to work well. Signs were clearly up to indicate to competitors what the direction of stages were at the particular intersection.
Then i think a 100m(?) "overshoot zone was established. Ie if the competitor missed the turn, and they went pass the no-return point, they then had to continue in that direction along the stage, which then equal disqualification...
Sot works well, as long as the control officials are switched on..

Yeah that's quite correct it is the same bit of road for a K and a bit and then it splits.
There is also one in Bob's Creek and Tindales as well.
It has been done at other events like Jimbo has said, you have not noticed it.

Rally Oz did the two stages in one for Muresk.
You got to see the top guys a couple of times close together.

Having been an official at the start of two stages that do that at the ROM for the last couple of years. I can say that it is usually no problem. If some one is late can cause mini drama but can be sorted if no one panics.
Competed in a VRC a couple of years ago that did it, with only one crew going the wrong way ( COC's brother )

It was done on an event I ran many years ago, it was a 200m drag to the first rj and apparently the look on the crews faces was priceless.

"Rally Guide 2" is still to come out. I wish they could just give us all the stuff at once.
