This is a winnah. Wish I could compete.
The New South Wales round of the Globalstar Australian Rally Championship (GARC) has a new location, new date, and a new policy of encouraging participation from all levels of competitor. Rally Bathurst has a new initiative of inviting clubman competitors to compete alongside the regular GARC teams.
The clubman event provides a great opportunity for those rally enthusiasts who would normally compete in club, multiclub and state rallies to be a part of the energy and atmosphere of this new and exciting event, with the comfort of the high standard of safety and sporting infrastructure that the GARC maintains.
Clubman competitors will be able to experience the thrill of a round of the GARC and also the famous Mount Panorama race circuit and facilities. New pit and paddock facilities were completed for the 2004 Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar event, with stage two now underway. Mount Panorama will play host to the Super Special Stage and also accommodate Rally Headquarters and the NEC Service Park.
The new and exciting Rally Bathurst will be held from 28-30 October 2005. All stages are being run in the Sunny Corner State Forest, and competitors will be thrilled by the removal of all the rollover drains for which Bathurst is somewhat infamous. Roads will be in great condition.
How to enter the Clubman event
Rally Bathurst organisers would like to make the clubman event as simple as possible and attract some great competitors to compete in this new exciting event. Rally Bathurst’s clubman event will eliminate the expense and fuss of competing in the GARC main event.
Clubman competitors will be able to choose whether to compete on one day or two, to complete reconnaissance or not, or whether to participate in the Ceremonial Start on Thursday evening and the Super Special Stage on Friday night. Scrutineering may be completed at your regional scrutineer (without pre-event scrutiny by Rally Bathurst scrutineers) and entrants can compete in their PRC car without fire bombs or national-level driving attire.
Rally Bathurst Clubman event provides the perfect opportunity for smaller teams to compete alongside the nation’s best rally teams and to be part of this great experience.
Clubman Entry Fees
• 216km competitive distance over two days (not including recce) - $400
• 216km competitive distance over two days (including recce) - $500
• One day of competition (not including recce) - $200
Clubman event entry includes a full road book. Costs are further reduced through centralised service and GARC limits on tyre use.
