Alpine Rally 2005
So, who received a "Golden Ticket" into the Alpine? Invitational Supp regs were posted out this week.
Invitees So Far:
Matty T / NFI - Nissan's Finest From 1982
GT / NFI - Bloody Volvo 142S
Wagy / Dave Reynolds - Crazy Escort
Fro / Inanimate Carbon Rod - Sub-Super B
Bogan / Anna - LA Lancer Story
Grumpy Olde Bob / Winton Brocklebank - Nissan Stanza of Much Attractiveness
Matt Ruggles / Tristan Kent - Triumph TR8-ction
Gerald Schofield / Owen Greenwell - Immaculate Group 2 Escort Madness
Marco Werner / Lucia Werner - 40^2
Rob Dyer / Simon Brown - Mini B
This event is going to be huge! Format (from memory) is -
Division 1 - (1200 - 1715) - 9 stages, 140 km competitive
Division 2 - (2030 - 0030) - 3 stages, 140 km competitive
Division 3 - (1000 - 1300) - 7(?) stages, 100 km competitive
If you are interested in coming down to Lakes Entrance on the weekend of 3/4 December to service / assist, post here. A condition of entry is that each entrant must provide at least one controllie to do one job over the course of the weekend. If there was enough interest, perhaps we could see a stage run by BMSCers / Canberrans.

I do believe that Tony received one this week.

Grumpy Olde Bob /Winton Brocklebank - Nissan Stanza.
Hello gumtrees! I'm back!
Thinks: "do I need to participate in that disgusting Datsun-lurve stuff? Or is that only if you have IRS? Or some other communicable disease?"
Nurse! Crack the top off a modest sauvignon blanc! And dust off me driving gloves!

I DIDN'T get an invite.
"Cranky" is not the word...
Seems that my Registration of Interest has gone AWOL - serves me right for defending Australia Post on an internet forum less than a week ago, I guess...
I've spoken to Jodi G, and she told me to not panic - that I'm fairly certain to get a run, as lots of people won't actually make it to the
event.

Far too funny, young Thompson, far too funny ..............
Now, for something lighthearted, work out how many of this illustrious field are Volvo drivers. Not necessarily driving Volvos in the Alpine, but Volvo drivers nevertheless.

Ah! A trick question! The answer: all of them. Even if they didn't own or drive a Volvo, secretly, deep down inside, they all want to.

Make that all of us bar one.
We still need some service crew, and if any other entrants are having problems with officials I might be able to help youse out. PM me if you get desperate.
The Lancer has been to two Alpines previously in the 80s, I wonder how it fared...
