I am writing to advise that given further delays in the discussions with the Western Australian Government, we have been left with no alternative other than to postpone the 20th Australian Safari until August 2007. This will ensure that the proposed move to Western Australia can be coordinated with sufficient lead time provided to all stakeholders.
As you may know, we have been in discussions with the Western Australian Government for some time now, but unfortunately we simply could not get sign off in time to provide us with sufficient lead time to deliver an event worthy of our 20th anniversary.
On a positive note though, our negotiations with W.A continue and we remain hopeful of being able to make an announcement within the next few months.
We are obviously extremely disappointed that we have been unable to finalize an agreement on a new home for the Safari in time to deliver an event in 2006. That said, we now have some 20 months in which to plan the 2007 event and to ensure that the very first event in Western Australia will be a resounding success.
I would like to thank you all for your ongoing patience and support and we look forward to working with you on the Australian Safari 2007.
