How funny is this?
Thanks to Dave G for pointing this out - I had totally missed it....
Click here and then have a look at who won "Big Aussie Iron".

One of the joys of every kiddy wins a prize. Anna and I get the awards for winning Group 4 because the 4th O/R Group 4 car won B Grade driver and co-driver (I think).

I'm assuming that the awards must be "mutually exclusive" or something - like Swan not winning the Swedish class...

So in that case, why didn't GT win Aussie Iron... did he get something in the mix that I didn't pick up on?

Yeah, something like that ...... it doesn't pay to query the basis of the awards for the Alpine too much. It's been the same in previous years.
Stuwie likes to spread the "loot" around. The Supp Regs should just say "Awards will be made at the discretion of the Organisers" .... works for me.

GT got 2nd Group 6 after the other kiddies were taken out. From the furthers:
Quote:
17. Awards
Border Oils
1st Outright Driver & Navigator
2nd Outright Driver & Navigator
3rd Outright Driver & Navigator
Autobarn Ballarat HRA (i.e. Group 1)
1st Driver & Navigator
2nd Driver & Navigator
3rd Driver & Navigator
Pedder’s (Outright & HRA Award Winners Not Eligible) Competitor Grade Awards
A 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
B 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
C 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
Performance Exhaust (Outright & HRA Award Winners Not Eligible)
Car Groups
1 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
2 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
3 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
4 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
5 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
6 1st 2nd & 3rd Driver & Navigator
|
Then there was some funkiness around with them, because the covering letter which came with the results states:
Quote:
|
We would like to extend our thanks to all the sponsors, big and small, who have contributed money or goods into the awards category for the event. This has allowed us to be a little creative with certain classes and groups, and therefore spread the awards around a bit.
|
See attached.
