It can flood over really quickly.
|
You mean could flood over really quickly, Canberra barely gets enough rain to fill the little creeks these days, let alone having it come over the road.

I'm not saying you're wrong since I don't pay a lot of attention to what size most rainfall events are, but Canberra actually got slightly above average rainfall in 2005.

This was back in the days boys when it rained in Canberra, this may very be back when you still at school.
The crossing was deemed to hard to cross if it rained. In those days Adrian was only just getting involved and he brought the Nat Cap rain curse with him.......
Its probably dried up now......

Not if Adrian is in the State.....
Tweety,
If we did get higher than average, then it would have been from the last few months of the year when we had some decent downfall I would have thought, from Memory, 2005 (the first 8 months) were as dry as the 4 years before that, or pretty close too. Either way, I was actually joking, and it was not meant to be taken as factual

Facts, schmacts. Who needs them? Especially when you're making a joke*. BTW autumn was very dry, but the rest of the year had average or above rainfall.
You lot hate me enough as it is but imagine if I posted all the time (instead of just sometimes) about things I know nothing about - you'd all lobby to get me banned. When it comes from you though it's okay .

Canberra airport recorded 648.6 millimetres of rain for the year. This figure is just above the average of 625.2 mm. The driest period occurred throughout April and May with 6.8mm and 0.8mm of rain respectively. (Was Adrian on vacation?) The wettest month of the year was September with 100.6 mm of rain, which is nearly twice the monthly average. Most other months recorded rainfall that was either close to, or above, average.
And although my signature says this is just my opinion, in this case, it is actually based on facts for a change. Taken directly from www.bom.gov.au.

Didn't AD spend a fair bit if time in Bathurst last year, and look what happened there! Might account for it.

Adrain:
It was the worst rally I have had any involvement with. The ineptitude of the promoter was unforgivable.

Kevin Roben could probly tell you more, as he was the Stage Commander, I seem to recall he had problems with someone requiring access at the start TC which became rather heated. I'm sure MB would remember if you happen to be chatting.
We had some great times at these events over the years, met a lot of good people that we are still bumping into at the SRoC!

I remember that incident quite well Mike, and it caused quite a bit of commotion at the time. Something to do with a local driving opposite rally traffiic while the stage was running?

I'm not sure he was a NSWelshman Mike? However he did kick up a bit stink and was intent on drive back to his farm with rally cars coming towards him at warp speed along Smiths RD. It was Kevin who actually was in the wrong for taking his keys away and telling the silly fool to stay there, is why the guy was never charged. The copper at the end of stage said to Kevin that he could have been charged with assault for taking his keys, if the guy wanted to lay charges. The whole lot was blamed on poor stage security at the stop point among other things.
