Tranbell Classic Rally 2002 Supp Regs here!
After an eternity of phone calls, one flat battery and some skinned knuckles...the Supp Regs that everyone has called me about are here...
Thanks to Zen ( ) for hosting it, they can be found at http://bmsc.com.au/downloads/TranbellSuppRegs.PDF. To download 'em, and not just see them in your browser, just right click on the link and select "Save Target As".
Once Zen gets back in front of a 'puter, I'm sure that the link will change, but it'll do for now.
Get in there and get those entries in...
Apologies for the delay, and thanks for those who've been making efforts to help me get them here (Kate and Umby in particular)...

I particularly like the brevity of clause 1.5, some irony evident here.
$290 is pretty sweet for 110km.
Nice one Fro.
Anyone need a codriver?

Just to let those concerned know...if you're registered for NSW Novice or Gemini Series, yes, you'll get some regs in the mail.
I haven't got the address labels for the ACT Series peoples (which has mainly been due to my disorganisation), but I'll be dropping copies of regs around to the usual suspects (Reliance, City Centre Auto Electrical, City Car Care, Johanson Auto) over Wednesday and Thursday.
And if you've got concerns about getting your entry in on time, give me a call and we'll figure something out. I understand the time pressures people are under with only just under a week til entries close from release of regs.
Now, can someone find me an extra couple of hours in the day. My liver can only handle three Red Bulls a day...

Supp reg questionables
Fro, A little constructive criticism....
I note in the supp regs that the event is a Novice / Gemini / ACT series event.
There is a trophy for first place Novice, but nothing else. This is a State series. I thought the first 3 would at least get something. But then you are giving no awards to the Gemini people or to the ACT series competitors. Now I thought John Lockeridge was a stinge with his awards, but you have sunk below this...... And yes I know you have the "we can add to these awards clause" but it does not look good. I would at least like to get a bit of plastic or something to be recognised for my efforts in a statewide series.
The closing of headquarters. Does this allow for the last car finishing using the 40 minutes of late time, and the 30 minutes of being held in Parc Ferme.
And as there have been a number of issues raised lately in regards to rules. I would be lead to believe that the finish venue will not be serving alcohol to any member of the crew save they be excluded from the event.
7.5 i. Any competitor consuming or found to have consumed alcohol on the day of the event, prior to the conclusion of the event (NCR 145A) will be excluded from the event and may be reported to the stewards.
I know I am being pedantic, but the event does not generally conclude until the release of cars from Parc Ferme. I do not think a waiver could be introduced in regards to having this removed. This means some people could protest and it would be ruled as correct and possibly bump them up the field.
Breatalyzers all round.....
On another note, the $100 administration fee for not completing documentation or scrutiny correctly. I have not seen this ruling before..... Does this allow cars to compete illegally. If you are late with scrutiny or documentation, or there is a hold up you could impose the $100 fee legally.
Sorry I am trying to be more rule literate with some of the shirt that is going on......

Smee, you're probably right on the later points, but I disagree with the stuff about trophies. If it matters to you (and you've won) you can spend the $15 yourself on a trophy - I mean, who gives a ****e? Rally people don't care about the plastic, while mumsie will be just as impressed if you make / buy the trophy yourself...
Buty bumping the entry fee up for everyone will push it over the "mental hurdle" $300 mark... I'm not saying its logical, but it is the way the majority of the financial strugglers feel.

Hey, bring it on. Constructive is the best kind of criticism

Yeah, trophies weren't high on my priority list when I drafted the regs, and I have to say, have slipped completely off the radar in the last few days. I'd rather keep the entry fee down than give out dust collectors. If I was gonna give out a trophy, I'd want to give out decent ones, but decent ones cost money...catch 22. Besides which, my track record on trophies is pretty shocking, just ask Dyne-O-Matt or Zen.

It did when I drafted the Regs to begin with...prolly not now with amended itineraries. It'll have to be a bulletin. Although it wouldn't be too far off.

Yeah, this is probably true, but can you imagine that protest actually being upheld. How many other events this year, or previous years, have ended in Hotels, Clubs, etc? I put this in the same category as the weight thing currently is. If someone protested, they'd probably win, but they'd be lynched soon after.
Hey, that's not to say it won't happen. I'll have to investigate further, but I think this is a non-issue.

This one I don't really know about...It was part of the regs that I pirated, and I just took it as one of those "standard things". Dunno
Thanks for those...keep 'em coming. I'll have a think about the trophy issue, but it's gonna take a bit too change my mind I think...

I don't have the bible in front of me but just wondering which Sup Regs did you take this from? I read thouroughly the sup regs from a few events (Ulludalla/Bega) and there has been no mention for an administration fee on uncompleted entry forms. This is not to say that they have to be complete before hand though.
In relation to the scruitny clause, I assumed that if a car does not complete (fails), then it should not be able to compete. I always thought that it was usually up to the discretion of the stewards of the event to decide on the penalties for both issues. Like Smee, i have not seen this before until now, unless something has changed.

I only managed 3 events last 12 months, so I'm pretty sure I recall Fiona McC-M having a penalty clause in for the Starmart? So I would have thought you'd have known/ been ready to accept, Smee?
