It's a rally. You go there because it's part of the championship and you drive the rally as fast as you can because you want to win it.

Surely they don't think of value in the same terms we do, I'm sure their entry fees are more than $350 but at the same time I'm sure they don't care.

I'm sure their definition of value is about their costs relative to the marketing exposure they gain.

To paraphrase Mr Wilson.
It's a long way to come for no result, and the car Ford Australia puts up as a Focus is a joke.
We get more spectators to our test days than the whole Rally Oz gets over the week.
It costs a shed load of money, and I could buy a few more houses in London for the money we spend travelling to Australia.

If you have another read of his comment you will see that he only talks about Cyprus not being value for money. When he talks about Perth he makes the assumption that the WRC wasn't just going to hand Rally Australia over to an event that has not been observed.

Obvioulsy Gazza knew this and that is why there was no announcement on the location of Rally Australia.

Had RoC been selected we would probably still have an event because it has been observed as an international event for years.
