No strong view from competitor point- but from the point of view of officials and running the rally keeping the event as compact as possible is always good. ( I voted no tarmac and I am competing)

Tarmac is the way to go. I have wanted to do a tar stage for so many years.
The rest of the rally is dirt so something different is great.
Transport is not a problem when you think of Bega! Unless its longer than that.

Considering YRALLY voted to use the tar, I don't think we have to win him over! :p..
but anyways... Steve- I'll buy you beers if we can run the tar..

GIRO
I'M COMPETING AND VOTED FOR NO TAR, BUT WHAT THE HELL, I'M NOT FUSSED EITHER WAY. WE WILL GO WITH THE FLOW.
ON A DIFFERENT SUBJECT, DOES ANYONE HAVE A PLACE TO LEAVE MY CAR ON THE TRAILER AS WE ARE GOING TO BOMBALA ON THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE EVENT AND WILL RETURN ON FRIDAY TO GO TO STARMART.
TRAVELING THRU QUEANBEYAN AND ON TO BOMBALA.
WOULD SAVE A LOT OF TOWING IF SOMEONE WOULD BE SO KIND.

Tarmac is good, ya? I'm cr.ap at go-karting, prefer the dirt but the tarmac run up Brindabella Road is close to once-in-a-lifetime opportunity...
Yep, I'm competing.
When the BitB ran in 2003 and we last ran up the tarmc it was awesome fun. The brain does a bit of a double take when you realise that you can safely run across the dividing white line. I thought the atmosphere on that cold, wet morning back in 2003 as we were waiting around on the road was just awesome. I even managed to spin twice on the way and still want to go back and get it right.
A few extra wheels and tyres to cart around but oh well. We rally, we go fast, da? More stage is good.
Mark

Competing, if we have to do two days of rallying whats an extra 30 klms and the bitumen albeit 5 kms does add something else different to the event.

Competing
I reluctantly chose no tarmac, but not really fussed either way,
I just prefer shorter liason, cruising around just isnt fun in the spoonter,
But tarmac is fun.
Ben.

Competing and after speaking with my driver for the event, voted for the tarmac option. If the tamac stage was a short one (less than 2kms), then I would not vote for it as I can not see any benefit out of doing it.

Hoping to be competing - and would luv to do the tarmac. Just waiting to see if my new nav is able to take the time off (it's a Thursday to Sunday job for us coming from Melbourne).

Competing, and I voted no tarmac. But I don't feel particularly strongly about it - I just don't have any bitumen tyres (yet).
For the record, after I voted it was 17 for tarmac, 16 against. Totally unhelpful poll! But if you read the thread to identify competitors' responses, it seems to be about 6 for, 9 against? Does this mean that 18 non-competitors voted?

I agree with what Gywn was saying, although not sure if Marc missed the point, maybe not...
We are competing for 2 days, doing over 400 kms or something, what is an extra 30 kms if we get to keep the tar stage and have something different rather than the same usual roads or parts there of.

No , it means some of us voted in the poll, and didn't think there was anything more (constructively) to add.
