So Rowdy, are you paying for tar tyres, for them to be fitted to wheels, and the extra fuel for all the competitors, as well as beer for Swill and Tort???

Go the tar!!! Don't forget if there's a bank up at the start control you all have to get out your pipes and start calling each other "chaps" and starting sentences with "Oh I say...".
I'll be there to monitor the situation.

So what is this road like? is it a tight windy hairpin road or fast and flowing? Also are there any tyre restrictions, that is not that I have anything special anyway!

I think Swill and I are thinking pretty much what Kagan has put there. Its what I'd want to do, trying to decipher the user names and the comments, dudes are either equivocal or keen.
Ta. Itinery vIII it is then. If all the volunteers can do the long day it should mean no more than would otherwise be required.

So we should start to organise Tarmac tyres then, meaning it is definetly a go'er baring Government interference / CAMS interference / act of God??

The Road Director has made the call. Its a goer pending all the usual approvals and such.
I'll close the thread. Start up another if you want to ask Giro questions.

Fine. I'll post in the (now locked) thread. Bully.
Competing. Voted for "tar". It's 5 kays of tar ferchrissakes - you don't need tar tyres! You would barely manage to knock the tits off a set of newies in 5 kays competitive! You are all happy to do 200+ km of transport on your rally tyres, giving it a bit of "spirit" through the corners, but 5 kays of competitive tar? OMG! Break out the slicks! Sheesh.
Stewy, (I assume) it's uphill, twisty, and a bagload of fun.
