Struggles with ACT Forests VI - choose your own itinerary
So I met with ACT Forests this morning, trying to finalise the route of this *****ing event. I'm trying to run in the lower Cotter catchment, which they thought was fine 2 months ago, then it was off, then on, then off. There's a big meeting this afternoon of the catchment steering committee, but its not looking hot.
So with that, I've come up with two alternate itineraries. One does Brindabella Rd first, then transports the long way around from West Knob to Tidbinbilla Lane, Bluetts and Stromlo to finish to replace the lost km. The other removes the tarmac and does Bluetts first, then Stromlo at the end of the day.
So the choice is tarmac stage + long transport and itinerary a bit broken up or no tarmac stage.
Itineraries attached. You choose.
(Note organisers reserve the right to do what they want. You never know, we might still get lucky with the catchment.)

Baa.
I'm not competing but my vote would have been for tarmac.
What about Miowera or something like that?
I'll start another thread about the dwindling of Canberra forests.

Ditch the tarmac. Don't keep volunteers waiting around in the cold weather.

Ditch the tarmac. Not because I'm against tarmac stages (Tawanga gap is still one of my favourite stages of all time), but because it would be crap for my car, and the long way round would be a pain in the butt for all concerned, not just the competitors, but service crews and volunteers also.

tarmac
I am planning on competing, and while I enjoy tarmac stages, not at the cost of a heap of extra transports km's and a rally that will run much later. If there are any delays during the day, please consider the impact on the last cars.

Not competing, but will be driving over the course - that's gotta count for something?
