Wilson Jnr, waste of a car?
Been reading some other forums and saw that Wilson Jnr is driving a WRC 06 Focus in Japan.
Is it a waste or what?!
I think it's bullsh*t there are HEAPS of better drivers then Wilson Jnr, gee, guess it does help having daddy as the boss ay

The kid can drive OK. Like all young drivers he needs some experience and if his Dad has some connections then fair enough.
He has won a WRC stage. Many havent who have much more experience

Yea a Super Special, the last stage of the rally, the one were everyone backs off because its 2k long.
I'm sure he can drive ok but what about all those other WRC drivers that have more talent, Gigi, Rovanpera, A and C McRae, Gardemeister. I understand that his dad owns the team but he should have stuck to the British Rally Championship until he is a competitive driver, come on the guy got beaten by group N cars in the British Rally Championship, that shows he shouldn’t be in WRC, it's a waste because all these talented drivers go without a drive and they could actually make an impact on the rally were as Wilson Jnr is struggling to get 1 point.

Maybe just maybe, All the other drivers are much more expensive than young Mathew and Mr Stobbart who pays Mathews bills won't stretch that far and Ford has a deal with MSport to field x number of cars at X number of events and this is the cheapest way daddy can do it whilst still generating column inches for Ford and don't for one minute think thats not what its all about, the whole WRC circus. If you think Chris Atkinson got his gig because he is the best available driver you should wipe the sleep out of your eyes

I'm sure Wilson Jnr is cheap, but yet again think of some drivers, it's even cheaper to kick Wilson Jnr out of the seat and take some up and coming JWRC driver, with more talent, why cheap, because all the young up coming drivers pay their way.
Chris did get his gig coz he put in, but he does have talent, more so than Wilson Jnr, he wasn't the best but he was up there.

The kid is 19, he's doing damn well for how little real experience he has. And if Daddy wants to give him a leg up, then so be it.
The other thing is that Matt had his f***** big accident and is still at it and still developing and getting quicker again now he's getting some confidence and courage back. That's usually a turning point in a career, some dirvers have their big one and never come back, others learn and become champions.

Now just wait a moment there. 2004 was his first season and he was 17 - how many 17 year olds can be as fast as he was then?. He won British National rallies when he was 18 and looked like he was on course to win the full championship until he had a rather big crash - your trying to tell me that someone that young and inexperienced should beat some damn good steerers and that's what your basing your statement on? He probably stepped up a year too early but big deal, if you dont think he's got real talent and a whole load of potential then your kidding yourself. Daddy may be a short cut to the top but Malcolm Wilson isnt just letting Matt drive because he's his son - it's also because Matt Wilson is showing signs of being every bit as good as his old man was.

Ummmmm, have I missed something here? Precisely whose car are you likely to be driving in your first rally?
I think MW is doing ok.
I have nothing against fathers helping out sons wherever they can.
