CAMS Officials: Generic Level 2 Course
I've been informed that there is likely a Generic Level 2 CAMS Officials course slated (in Canberra) for Saturday August 26.
If people interested in participating could respond to this post, or PM myself, wiht their name and CAMS Officials Licence Number, and I'll collate the responses and pass them on to Stephanie at the NSW CAMS Office.
The venue is yet to be confirmed. The course will run 09:00 to 17:30 on the Saturday. Participants will be required to bring along their CAMS Officials Licence, CAMS Manual, a notepad & pen, and a willingness to listen.

Okay, people, I've only got 3 responses so far (myself included). I know that many of you will have done it already through Rally of Canberra in previous years, but no other takers?
I'll mention it again at club night on Tuesday.

Seriously dude, Apart from CoC'ing state rounds, what else would we get to do as a L2 that we can't do as a L3?
I'm not saying it's useless, just wanting to know what the use is?

If you want to do a variety of roles at a state round (or higher), a Level 2 will help. This includes Event Secretary, Scrutineer, Stage Commander, ACofC and CofC, and a variety of other roles.
And not just for rallying. If you want to organise a state khanacross/motorkhana, be involved with a State Round hillclimb, State rally or rallysprint, or even a State Supersprint...

One of the most important reasons I would have thought to get a level 2 is to be able to sign off level 4 to 3 upgrades for other people in your club. We've only just a C2 and A2 in TCC and it is going to be a big help in future. You can ask the CAMS office in your state to use a level 3 to sign you off, but sometimes people just say "why bother" and give up at that point.
At the moment you only need level 3 to organise state motorkhanas and khanacrosses, but I'm pretty sure Fro is on the money for all the other event types mentioned.

This thread has now been un-stuck in deference to the more comprehensive post on CAMS Officials Training. I will, however, bump this thread again closer to the date of the course.
