Rust?

No rust front panels are great.

The only rust is a bit of surface rust where the previous owners paint job has flaked away to leave bare metal.

and aim higher than $200......

Cheers

Did this shell originally come with ..................... leopard-skin trim?

A few years ago I bought a very nice 3T engine from a guy in Sydney, but it came in a TA22 shell that same distinctive purple/maroon colour as yours (the body was free, and it was the most convenient way of getting the motor home from Sydney).

The car also had very distinctive leopard-skin pattern trim .......... and had been named "Pornstar" by its previous owners

I removed the motor, sold on the rolling shell, then - about a year later - came across it in a Queanbeyan wreckers. Still undamaged, still that same purple, still with some remaining leopard-skin trim. So, when I saw your photos, I wondered.............................

That is truly, truly appalling - Bob, you should be ashamed of yourself !

I'm hoping you haven't kept the interior to put in the Amazon*

* although in that case it would have to be jaguar-skin to be geographically correct, I suppose

In my defence , I wish to state that:
(a) I only bought it for the motor; the body (and interior) were free;
(b) I first saw the car in total darkness, test-drove it in darkness, handed over the money in darkness, and drove it home to Canberra in darkness; and
(c) it was only the next morning that I saw what I had done .
Regrettably, later that morning my wife also saw what I had done , and offered me the opportunity for early-onset death.

I was very tempted to keep a (very small) piece of the interior trim for my motoring museum. However, following counselling from my wife (see reference above to "early-onset death") I realised that this would not be a wise move

Grumpy, etc
