Might be worth seeing if the floorpan is the same, as all the mechanicals are getting binned anyway...

A FWD could be converted to AWD, but it would be a bit of mucking around. Would need to fabricate tailshaft support and also rear cross member supports. Doable, but a pain.
I can't remember if the new motors fit in the Vortex's...probably should.

Yep the DOHC motors will fit.
And as an added bonus there should be all the captive nuts to mount the AWD running gear in.
The US models do anyway.
