PM sent.
For those interested, I only have the 48 and 32 Z gears currently on hand, but I do have a number of additional 32 Z Gears (3 extras) if anyone needs to buy one
I also have a stack of X gears too.. but thy are still somewhere in the archeological dig I am currently undertaking in my shed/garage. Some years ago (about 2004 IIRC?) I sold my original (nearly) full set of gears to Mike Cherry, however since then have built up a pretty good collection again of X's, Z's and other bits and pieces ( although I haven't had these engraved as my originals all were to make reading the numbers easier in the dark).. Anyway, I will list and sell these additional gears I am thinking once they emerge from the aforementioned dig. The Z's surfaced still resplendent on the shiny split pin I kept them on a couple of weeks ago, so the X's, cables, circlips, T-pieces and other stuff shouldn't be far away

He who dies with the most Halda gears - wins!

An amazing amount of money is the best way to describe it. Check e-bay as many Australian Haldas/gears are sold to european competitors.

(Australian dollars) $25 each (including postage)... less for buying bigger quantities.
Buying from Don Barrow and those sorts of places they run to GBP20.00 each plus postage etc.
I used to sell my stuff all in either USD or Euros to my customers in Italy, Germany, France, Austria etc (when I was trading very regularly a few years back), but since those currencies have gone south... its not worth the bother now (although, I suppose anything I do list on Fleabay (or offer direct to some of my old rallying contacts in Europe)... following my "dig" I'll still list/offer for sale in Euros as its more convenient for the purchaser (and I'll take the exchange rate risk).

Cheers Dave. I've got a few gears in the shed myself and always wondered what the value was. One day ill get around to flogging all my dinosuar stuff off. Apparently the alloy case twin master and the post funk electronic Halda are worth a few bucks these days

They are, however because of the strength in the Australian dollar the return is nowhere near as good as it used to be.
The best I have ever done after exchanging back to Australian dollars, is around $3,500.00 for a almost shop quality alloy case TWM1.. but mostly, for either the TWM1's or TWM2's could still, even in poorer condition, get around $2,800 or so.
However, now in 2010 (although I'm not following it that closely these days as I stopped buying and selling a few years back when I sold my Sunny ( I used the Halda business to fund buying the car, maintaining it and running it etc)) its nowhere near as good as the above simply because whilst prices have kept up in Europe, the strength of the Australian Dollar means that probably after exchange etc, you would be looking at something closer to perhaps a touch under AUD2K?
I know a couple of blokes in Europe who were pretty keen purchasers of metal case twinmasters, and they really did amazing jobs on restoring them too! I'll have details I am pretty sure for at least one of them (stashed away with the rest of my Halda stuff) so let me know if you want the details to see if he might be interested in what you have. That said, unless you are really keen to get rid of it, maybe its worth waiting to see if the Euro strengthens relative to the AUD post GFC and better return might then be had?
Cheers
Dave

Yep,sold all my gears, about 15 all up, a couple of years ago on Ebay, not sure what they were worth so put $50 on them, ended up going for nearly $400 with bids from the US,UK and Europe.Complete Halda is worth +/- $2000.At the same time put a collection of Weber jets/ET's/chokes etc on,expecting less than $100 and ended up nearly $300.
Big shock what they go for but Ebay/PayPal fees bring you back to earth, all up it amounted to nearly 20% of the final price.
