Wanted to borrow: 4 x 200 litre fuel drums
Dudes,
Anyone out there got any 200 litre Elf or similar drums that I can borrow for a couple of weeks? Will pick up ASAP and you can have it back on about 25/10. Must be clean and able to accept fuel.
Also wanted to borrow - one pumpy thing for getting fuel out of 200 litre drums and into jerry cans.
PM or call 0412 068 985 if you can help.
T.

So you have four empty ones at Fyshwick Dave?
I can drop them off at Spac's or somewhere else when we've finished with them if you don't want them any more.

Are these drums able to be filled at normal servos? Are there any regs on the transportation of said drums?
Was thinking a 200 and pump might be the way to go.......

Could be problematic given that they really should be on the ground while you're filling them up (static and all) and once they're full they'd weigh around 200kgs.
Trying to lift them may cause this type of facial expression....
I don't think Mr. Shell Servo Owner would like people pulling in and filling up a 200 litre drum all at once anyway!

I just moved a full 200l drum on and off a ute last weekend. It can be done pretty easily by 2 people. Having a spare tyre that is shot to help cushion the drum onit's way down, and to give you a bit more leverage on the way up is handy.

Don't think any servo operator is going to complain about selling fuel, it's the safety aspects they'd be concerned about. I've looked for regs but there's none apparent online, I guess I should give PT a call.......
Jem: the problem is singular. Having people to help always makes things easier and sometimes more fun, however I try to design solutions that involve only 1 person- that way I can still do what I want when I want.

So are you intending to provide fuel for the punters at the ride day.
Does this mean they cannot bring their own fuel concoctions.
I know the Barretts are runing ESP or whatever, some may run VP, some ELF in various forms, some will want Optimax, and I only run BP Ultimate (But I'm not running). Some people are very particular when it comes to what fuel their vehicles ingest.
You would also need as many pumps as you have 44 gallon drums. Not a good thing to be putting in and pulling them out of drums all the time.

FYI: According to Paulie's bathroom scales, Optimax weighs 750gm/litre.
205 x 0.75 = roughly 154kgs, plus the weight of the drum.
Jen's dad had a thing about how much fuel you're allowed to store at residential premises, but I'm not sure if it was based on reality or old rumour.

Correct, no other fuel will be allowed. Sniffer dogs have been employed for the day.
People must run the helicopter fuel..... at all costs!!

A further bulletin will be issued so all entrants must use this 'control' fuel, lest they be caught by one of the afore mentioned dogs, who's actions after sniffing the helicopter fuel all day, we cannot be responsible for
