Dog Boy, what sort of Dribble-tech is it? If it is one of the (horrible) old "D" series, it can probably be fixed.
If it is a later Digi series one, and it IS dead, I would be willing to have a look at the possibility of fixing it - no promises, but I would love to see inside one, and am not confidant enough to hook into a good working one (and risk f!@king it!).

Hey Spac,
it is one of the old "trimpot" types,
The mainboard is really dodgy, have found a few of the faults, broken trimpot, dry joint, bad soldering.
It looks like a 5 year old built it from a Jaycar kit, in fact that is probably being nasty to the 5 yo.
You are more than welcome to have a go at it!

if Spac doesn't want to look at it because he is too busy tightening bolts on the rally car I wouldn't mind a look inside one of those units sometime soon

A ha! A victim. Have I got a deal for you.
See this thread (click) for details, but basically I build a fuel only ECU and haven't had a chance to put it on a car yet.

sorry Marc, I am more interested in looking at the electronics than actually using the thing on a car - I'll leave that to the engine gurus because I don't know much about engines fullstop.
Hey Fro are you really going to wire up your new lights yourself??!!

Not wire up, just use the existing wiring and bolt/plug in some different ones. I might try some new globes first though, uprate them a bit and see if that helps at all.
Not that you'd cast aspersions on my electrical inability?!?
I'm down to only 4 mystery switches now! And some whacky reverse light action...

Bring it on. I've seen inside a couple of the old D3s (think of them as the ECU equilivant of a 286... no, make it more like a Dick Smith VZ300) and I'd agree - shoddy as all hell.
On the bright side, this makes most of their faults very easy to fix - just the no-brains-required fixing of dry joints etc...
62598762 (H) or
62077668 (W) if you want me to have a look.
