Rally Tasmania

Just got home from Rally Tas. Had a great time down there and came home with a class win. The Porsche carried us home with onlyOnly a few minor problems.

As far as other ACT crews went there were mixed results. Lyndall was co-driving for Myles Sandy, and they came about tenth. Unfortunately Barry Smith and Col Trinder had a reasonable size roll when they lost control of the EVO and clouted a wall in the famous Hellyer Gorge stage.

A good event all-round and now looking forward to the rest of the year.

Same Rally Tasmania?

Err ... Miles and I finished 8th O/R (we worked hard for those two extra positions, so may as well get credit for them!).

Barrie and Col made it through the (awesome!) Hellyer Gorge 1 stage okay, but roofed the Evo 800m in from the start of the 27km Savage River stage. I think Col's version of the incident would say "Barrie lost control" rather than "they lost control". Col, ever the professional, was still calling pacenotes when he realised they were upside down.

A good event all-round? Hmmm ... I've never seen so many Competitor Enquiry Sheets submitted with timing queries (supplying only one per road book was yet another oversight of the event organisers). They'll have to work hard to get many of this year's competitors back in 2004.

Sorry Lyndal. Being sick in the week leading up to the event meant that I had trouble focussing on anything more than just doing the job. As for the results, I'm sure you will agree that they are as accurate at this point in time as the event timing was.

I stand corrected.
