Wirrina Sprint Rally
Date: Sunday 17th August
Place:Wirrina Resort Oval and Fleurieu peninsula, SA
Distance: 50 km in 8 Special Stages, 120 km total
plus intro category for non-ROPS cars.
Entry fee: $150 early, $165 later.

Road book
Just finished the road book compilation yesterday in the rain and the roads are holding up really well. A few extra gutters with the precipitation this month but nothing to worry about. And the council have kindly filled a few of the dips with new gravel to smooth out a couple of the cautions. Had to put a few extra calls in the instructions due to a some crests being scarier than I first thought. (thanks Scrymmy! ) But the ocean and island views are quite unique for a SA stage!!
Competitive distance is a touch over 51km in a total of 120 km in 8 stages.
Will let you know when the supp regs are available

OK after som to-ing and fro-ing (  ) to state council  and rally panel, the original applied status of a rallysprint is going to stand.
So what difference does this make? Not much. There'll still a heap of nice roads to drive on at speed but the event may take slightly longer than first thought. The Wirrina stage I'll use as a prologue and then there'll be a transport out to Parawa to do repeats of stages 2 & 3. Just gotta sit down & rewrite the roadbook! Small problem is that all competitors need a Clubman or NRL but because it's club only ( Day membership FTW ) then ROPS is not mandatory but helmets and harnesses are.

Just got back from the course check and the roads look in fine shape but OMG how many crests with corners did I have to put in the road book? 
Here's a photo to whet the appetite. Wirrina prologue first corner and the gate WILL be open.

Would love to compete but it's just way to close to The Wombat Trail.
I hope the scheduling can be rearranged for next year so that they don't clash and we can do both.

Just come out anyway for a spot of officialling. Got a 4WD other than the subaru?

Wirrina road check
Just got back from the PR run for the sprint. All is looking good with the roads in excellent condition apart from a patch of yellow clay on the second stage. Woo that's exciting if it's the teensiest, slightest bit wet.
Cheap entries (@$150) close this week so send them in asap

Are you being serious that there were only 3 entries at the close of entries? That is not cool! Sorry to hear that! Hopefully things pick up for you and the event runs successfully. Unfortunately, we cannot make it from WA, otherwise we would have been there!
