BMSC Christmas in July Fundraiser
The Inaugural BMSC Christmas in July Fundraiser was, by all accounts, a great night. The Club wanted a mid-year, social get-together – and I think it went down quite well. The venue, music and food were superb.
Major prize winners:
Peter Taylor – lucky door prize (DVD Player)
Sue & Richard Hellyer – 2 nights’ accommodation at the Coachhouse Marina Resort
Best heckle of the night:
Ray Day – telling JS that the Jockey Party was next door.
There are lots of people we need to thank for making the night a success.
Simon and Sue Evans for coming up to be our guest speakers. They were funny and entertaining all night.
The local and National businesses who donated the raffle prizes
Ray Day for organising two table of ten people
Jack Hoogland for supplying the Christmas wrapping paper for the raffle prizes.
Russel Winks for supplying the Projector so we could show some rally footage.
Everyone who came last night – it wouldn’t have been a success without you.
Cheryl is still working through the paperwork, but it looks like the raffle made over $1700. The silent auction of the table decoration chocolates made $738.10. We still have some donations being mailed in by people who couldn’t make it (Current donations are $420).
Last, but not least, a huge thank you to Cheryl for organising the night. She has worked tirelessly on it for the past six months.
Marty

Fantastic Night. Many Laughs. Great People.
Just absolutely love my cheese platter! Will make a good parts tray!
Bad Kharma to Bede and Bosshair for taking pictures on my phone. I had numerous pictures of JS, Rays Bald head and a picture of butter when I deleted them yesterday...
Awesome job with Cheryl and the BSMC to get it all up and running. Make sure you let us know how you go with the final figures of money raised.

The lesson in that is, never leave your phone unattended at a rally function. Be grateful Tamsey didn't take it into the bathroom with him...
It was a great night, much fun was had by everyone I spoke to and a huge effort fundraising for the Leukaemia Foundation!
Highlights included:
- Some of the names Sue Evans came up with for the letters on the raffle tickets
- The bread rolls weren’t hard as a rock
- The look on Ray Day’s face when he opened his raffle prize
- Simon Evans being excited and saying “Someone different” when someone new won a prize
- The Barrett boys dancing to “YMCA”
